Think I may get away with it, I had to chop off the edges and melt two easter bunnies in the process but needs must. We now have a chocolate castle with a number 3 on top, with cherries and marshmallows in the moat, silver balls on the number 3 and sugar stars all over it!! Just hope chocolate goes ok with lemon cake!!??!!Light Bulb Moment 29/03/10!!Starting Fresh to get my house and finances sorted! 02/02/120

Been to do my Mystery shop, have to say it tastes sooo much nicer when you know you're getting paid to eat it!!
Not feeling great today so gonna have a little nap before i go to my voluntary job (I know I Know I'm a glutton for punishment!)
Thanks again, everyone for reading.
Oh, I had to get a tenner out of the machine for the mystery shop but I'll take it off my shopping budget on Thursday. Need some bread and Diet Coke anyway (Again, I know!!! Diet Coke is my real vice I'm afraid -the cheap stuff's just not the same. I do try and buy it on offer though. :-) )

Not a very good day really, left my voluntary job coz didn't feel very well.
Kids diidn't bring home school dinner forms today so decided to spend the money instead!! Bought Alice a birthday cake because she didn't like mine and a present from my mum which will be reimbursed. Oh and a spongbob helium balloon that I have no excuse for!!
I did resist a box of chocolates on offer from thorntons and getting a taxi home though so not all bad.
Sorry I'm so down in the dumps, just feeling a bit that way today. Never mind, tomorrows a new day and all that.Light Bulb Moment 29/03/10!!Starting Fresh to get my house and finances sorted! 02/02/120 -
Decided I'm going to apply for my credit card charges back.
Should be a similar process as bank charges so I should know what I''m doing by now - I claimed over 4 grand for myself, 2 grand for my brother and 500 quid for my OH. You'd think I'd be rich by now wouldn't you?
I've got most of my statements since late 2008 and the charges add up to 160.00, not sure whether to go for that or send off for my statements in case I was charged more the couple of years before that.
Any comments gratefully recieved.
Going to bed now, hopefully feel better in the morning. xxxLight Bulb Moment 29/03/10!!Starting Fresh to get my house and finances sorted! 02/02/120 -

Hi guys, Thank you choc addict for subscribing to my diary, and beat the debt for popping by.
I've had a good day today - did my food shopping which was under budget but only just, I have a budget of 80.00 but don't like to go over 60.00 really and todays came to 70.97. Just going through my reciept to see where I could have saved, most of the things I think I already am aware of. Lets see ... 1.49 on a toy ball for the littlun (no excuse for this except that she was with me and it kept her entertained!) 10.00 on 3 large fresh packs of lean minced steak (I was already buying 1 which was 4.00 and it was 3 for 10.00, I'll freeze the others which will save me money in the long run) 3.99 Bottle of wine for OH (He deserves a treat now and again and it was on offer!) and thats pretty much it!! Not bad really.
I did a real moneysaving thing earlier though, my kids are constantly getting headlice at school and it costs me about 15.00 to treat the whole family, and you have to do it again 1 week later so altogether it costs me 30.00 every couple of months. (To be honest if I'd realised how much it was costing me I think I would have added it to my budget!!) So .... this morning .... I swallowed my pride and rand my doctors surgery, I explained that I was really short of money at the moment and asked if it was at all possible to get a prescription for headlice lotion. She said she hadn't heard of that before and she doubted it but she'd get a doctor to ring me back. When he rang back, he said that he would write me a prescirtion for a "job lot" and I could pick it up tomorrow morning!! I have no idea how much a job lot is but even if it's one bottle it'll save me some money!!
So chuffed with myself today.
Gonna go off now and see what I can do with some leftover carrots or banana's.Light Bulb Moment 29/03/10!!Starting Fresh to get my house and finances sorted! 02/02/120 -
Oh and as for Diet Coke I don't notice much difference with my moods, but then I've never stayed off it for a long period of time so haven't got anything to compare it against!
I DO, however notice a difference in my bank balance - I lknow it's one of my biggest vices, especcially when I run out and have to spend 75p a can at the local petrol station!

Thanks anonymoose, yours is pretty cool too!
I wonder how long this obsession with money saving will last?
Last night I chopped up loads of carrots, blanched and froze them; also chopped and froze some onions, and the most amazing thing is I peeled and froze some spotty banana's and have blended them with some milk and a spot of icing sugar today to make some banana Ice cream. Aren't I productive??
Not so good news is that I didn't get paid at all for february because I was off sick, and Trev got a letter from JSA this morning, which we hoped would say it was all sorted and was just asking for more documentation he has already given them.
Gonna wake little one up and have some lunch now.
Hope everyones ok.
