Thanks for the links Chris--unfortunately not a lot for my reasonably close area but a few that could make an interesting day out with a bit of planning. Sometimes I wished we lived closer to a city to be able to take advantage of everything that can offer, but then I probably wouldn't want it cuz it's always there IYSWIM :p For me to visit a museum, skating, go-karts, theme park..I have to travel at least 60 miles each way. Then again, there are beautiful little villages & views from hill tops that I've never experienced, just 15mins from my front door :o Another song lyric--could be Joni Mitchell & about a car park errrm--"don't know what you've got till it's gone" m'be, as they are definitely building on those lush green spaces around here. Perhaps I'll pack a picnic & climb one of those hills today, before it's too late & everything gets covered in concrete :(

Definitely a high spend day yesterday - desk and new bedding + extras for dd's room and a half rice wardrobe for ds - both now built and installed and hands are sore as a result.

Have already had to spend today too, Christening card for neighbours and medicine for dd.

I do sooooo much better when I'm at work

    Thanks :rotfl:

My shiner is still looking luuuuuverly today..... and I've had the odd few moments of blurred vision which is making me seriously consider if I should extend my time off work to include Tuesday. Think I'll leave it until tomorrow morning to decide though, and if needs be I'll rattle through the store and speak to HR as soon as there's someone in the office (8am, as the store opens).

I'm taking the time off as holidays, as I've not worked there long enough to qualify for paid sick leave (above legal requirements anyway, so would have been unpaid 'waiting days'). They did offer to try and work some shift swaps for me, but I decided I'd rather just book the time off as it's not like I have any real need for my annual leave that it will impact on (no school aged children, and I don't go away because of the dog as much as the cost)

Been busy in the garden since just before 7am  Now have 2 raised beds in place and filled with my mixed composts, plus mixed loads more compost for my fruit bushes and blueberry plants which are now planted in their containers. Have also put the raised beds for one of my fruit trees in place, filled that, and given the apple tree a proper home.

Can't really do anything else without getting my drill out, as I need to make up the boxes for the other 3 trees and get them in position before I can decide on the 'final resting place' of the other 2 boxes I've already got made. Just not sure this is such a 'hot' idea today if my vision's still popping in and out, but I do seem get an early warning for it so perhaps it's worth a try. (And I still have another 5 to make besides the ones for the trees!)

Going to declare today as NSD number 6 :T There's now only just over 2 hours before the stores shut, I need nothing, and am totally filthy from compost mixing - so would have to wash and change before venturing out to spend money unnecessarily, which I have no intention whatsoever of doing :D
