I did it! I did it!!
NSD no 5 for me!
Hurrah!:j:j:j0 -
I got another today
9 out of 10!!:j:j:j:j
Proud to be dealing with my debts - LBM Mar 2010
Start weight [STRIKE]11 st 8.5lbs[/STRIKE] now 10st 3lb
£2 savers No.99 - £68 July No Spend Days 7/8
A&L [STRIKE]£202 [/STRIKE]£152 Barclaycard [STRIKE]£3882.89[/STRIKE] £3817.74 :mad:0 -
Well nearly blew the budget with a takeaway pizza to console myself over my DIY injuries, but after wasting 40 mins arguing with myself i ate the HM chickpea & chorizo soup i'd put in the slow cooker & very yummy it was too!! So all is not lost
Have washed about a ton of ivy out of my hair, bandaged the finger i half chopped off with a hacksaw, covered my arms in anti histamine cream & now i'm going to bed to sulk over the fact that now half the false wall is down i can't do anymore cos there's a ruddy great ventilation pipe hidden behind it (although why anyone would need to ventilate a storage cupboard is beyond me???)
Katenut - enjoy your last day at work!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -

Nowadays, I try to cover up when working with ivy - long sleeves and a scarf round my neck. I was dressed like this on Saturday, it was a bit hot - I got a few funny looks from passers-by :rotfl:! Once I had finished hacking the ivy off the wall, I went inside, changed my top (and bra!), washed my upper body completely (also brushed my hair well and rubbed with the damp facecloth), before putting on clean clothes. I also rubbed on Aloe Vera gel, before donning more factor 50 ....I still have a small area of itchiness on each arm just above where my gloves finish, but that is all. So much better that I used to be...rash all over my upper body, and little sleep for a week!.
Our little cottage is over 300 years old, so a lot of the ivy has been around for quite a time. I had hardly had any contact with ivy before moving here 14 years ago, and it is everywhere, in both hedges (on either side of back garden), as well as over all the walls at the front...or rather it was..:D. I uncovered one of our gateposts on Saturday..it looks really lovely now.
Today I did some baking, as well as quite a bit of seed sowing and weeding too. The garden is slowly recovering from it's 18 months of neglect, and is starting to look good again. The conservatory is full of seed trays...the tomatoes I sowed a week ago are up already, and will need potting on soon (aaaargh - where do I put them !) Even the peppers are starting to come up!
Right, enought waffling, must finish off my meal-plans for the next two weeks adn the shopping list, yes a spend day tomorrow I am afraid...will try not to spend too much!
Have a great week everyone.

Unfortunatley the chinese food was so salty that I spent most of the evening feeling illIt was nice of him though, I take what I can get!
Work this weekend is volluntary stuff mostly, so at least theres that warm and fuzzy feeling at the end! Its a bit mad really, working all hours for a charity during the week then filling in for two more on the weekends... I tell you, karma had better be real so I can get some good luck out of all this eventually!! :rotfl:
Hi Nottoobadyet
Ahhh, that's lovely, thanks very much:A.... I think it's all the lovely regular posters on here who keep the thread alive, they're the ones who really deserve the thanks - so thanks to everyone on here - you're a lovely group of people:A
Sorry about the chinese food, that's a shame but, as you say, the thought was nice.
You will definitely get your reward somewhere along the line for all that charity work - what goes around comes around in the end - well done:A

Hi lovely NSDers
Another weekend over, lots of gardening and housework in the spoon household, outside enjoying the lovely weather and getting 2 NSDs into the bargain (although I have a nasty odd number of 13 now:eek:.. going to have to work hard to get the lovely even 14 now..)
Lots of NSDs rolling in today, think we’re all going for the record this month and some of us have already met our targets, so a new heading below:
Targets being met today:
positivelypurple: :jwell done for meeting your original target of 10 - that’s brilliant. :j Will update with your new target of 15, fingers crossed you make that one as well.
Well done to:
skaps: no 9 :j- you’re half way there now, fantastic and still 12 potential NSDs to get the missing 9 - keep going! I’ve just noticed your signature, feeling quite exhausted by all that exercise, do you really do that much?Never mind all that exercise, I’m exhausted by reading what you’ve done today - you sound like a human tornado..:)
gabriella90: :wave:hi, good to see you back again. Last time you reported in, you had 6 NSDs, so the 2 new ones bring you to 8 - does that sound OK? Well done for getting the 8 :j- you’re over half way now. Keeping a diary sounds like a great idea, should keep you on track now. Hope you managed to get a cake for OH (or bake one yourself?)
jintyb: keep those needles clicking away and those NSDs rolling in - no 9 - well done!!! :j- only 3 to go now. Like the avoiding shops tactic, that seems to be working for a lot of us this month.;) Fingers crossed you managed another one for today.
Glad you approve of my outfit for Glasgow, thought it might be a bit over the top.
Ahh thanks, but you lovely people don’t really need much keeping in check, just a bit of organising and chivvying along occasionally..;)
thrifty fifty: well done to you for no 4 :j- nearly half way there now with lots more potential NSDs in April - keep going!
teenyweenyspender: half way there now - well done for no 10 :j- you’re doing really well now. Fingers crossed you get a few more this week, you sound very organised with all your cupboards full and spending diary up and running - that’s got to be the way to go!!:)
Changingme: sounds as though you had a busy day today, and another NSD as a bonus. Well done for no 11:j - over half way now, keep going..
chris81418: :wave:hi.. weather is brilliant at the moment, skies clear and beautiful sunsets thanks to the volcano. We live near a major airport so the skies are clear and it’s very peaceful - another bonus. Downside is that the cars are covered with a very fine dust, but can live with that. Well done to you for no 9,:j nearly half way there now... I love surprise NSDs, they are the best.:)
Thanks for the ideas for days out, they look great - I love free days out:)
coffee-break: :wave:hi, good to see you again. Well done for no 1:j - you’re off the starting blocks and into the race now, keep going!! Keiss 21: :j well done to you for no 9 and for declaring early again - love the spirit!
Supervising gardening is definitely the best imo, hope you got some more done today. You are sounding very organised - I am very impressed.... Hope tomorrow goes well, sounds as though you have a very busy day ahead of you - just read your second post - you did....
BigMumma: well done to you for no 11. :j I love the song “Big Yellow Taxi”, one of my favourites and, yes, we need to get out and visit those lovely green spaces before they become massive housing estates or car parks..:(

I feel quite exhausted reading about what you’ve done today. Hope the shiner is improving and, if you’re still having blurred vision, maybe you should take an extra day off work.), so I think I'll be OK for work tomorrow.
Decided against drilling anything yesterday, but still managed to get one of the remaining two already assembled raised beds into place. By the time I packed up I reckon I'd mixed close to 650 litres of growing medium
I then spent late afternoon/evening trying to convince the dog that the raised beds are not his personal digging spaces  Have a feeling he'll still be in them when I'm not looking, so either the dog goes or I need to put up a fence of some sort around the 'allotment' section of the garden before the veg gets planted into them
Still 5 NSDs to get in 12 days (including today), which is just about every other day needing to be kept spend free. Today won't be an NSD, so that means I need to work really hard for another tomorrow. Am off to see OH today, but have no idea where we may end up (been told to take scruffy clothes and sturdy footwear - although final destination depends on weather, and it's raining a bit here this morning) so don't know if this will involve any spending/temptation to spend.
But I need/want to stop at a large shopping complex on the way up (more or less as they open), as I want to get a CD player for the car (with kit to play it via the cassette slot in my car stereo, which is a moulded in one so can't be replaced with a radio/CD).
I used to have one, but DS1 destroyed it for me many year ago and it's not been replaced. Have decided I want another as the drive to OH's is the best part of an hour each way, and it would be nice to have my choice of music instead of the radio - so it's either another player or a load of blank tapes and hours of copying on my home stereo, and I think I'll get more use out of a personal CD player in the long term. This is a carefully considered purchase though, and one I've been thinking about for a few weeks - but the final nudge was DD informing me last week that she intends to move over the summer, so I'll also be looking at a fractionally longer drive to see her and my GDs from Aug/Sep instead of them being a 10-15 minute drive from meCheryl0 -
Checking in early again today and declaring NSD No. 11 - however, must be strong as need to go to the bank as online banking is not working. There are lots of shops in the vicinity  Will walk by very quickly.
I've already sorted out dinner for tonight and lunch for DD and I. This has eliminated the need to go near the supermarket today. I really don't need anything else at all (this is going to be my mantra!).
I've just been reviewing the diary and it looks like I might squeeze in NSDs on Weds and Thurs as well as very busy all round. Friday is looking interesting too. Saturday will be a spending day but as I'll (fingers crossed) be up to 14 by then, I'm not too concerned.
Hope you're all having a great day!CC1 £5999 Total Debt March 2021 £5999
