Today was an NSD - at last :T So that takes me up to 5 - and I shall strive to make tomorrow number 6 for those who don't like the evil odd numbers
Have been busy in the garden most of today, and ended up far too tired to bother with a trip out to check out the final Whoopsies
Got up this morning, and spent a couple of hours on my laptop (with a quick 'outage' for breakfast)
Then I did 2 wash loads, mowed the back lawn, and pegged out the washing (which dried really quickly)
Then I 'painted' 4 and a half pence panels down one side of the lawn (the half being one that is a half one to fit, not one I've only painted half of), whch I'd pressure washed a couple of weeks back..
Then I flattened a corner of the garden (moved a load of soil I dumped there 7 years ago when digging out a section of the front garden back to the hole I've still got out front)
Then I emptied out my compost bin (the contents are looking something like rotted down compost for the first time ever - and I 'only' started it off 7.5 years ago), moved the bin to the corner I'd just flattened, and put the contents back in
Then I cleaned off my (wooden) garden furniture, then pressure washed the next 5 fence panels that will need painting (up the other side of the lawn), then I ended up cleaning the path up that side of the house as well - but unfortunately started at the garden end, so was working in an uphill direction which wasn't the cleverest idea I had all dayLooks much better, but next time I have the washer out I'll have to give it a quick once over in the other direction
Just finished a very indulgent evening meal of roast lamb (even at Whoopsie price a lamb shank joint doesn't stretch far enough to be on the menu more than a couple of times a year), and I really enjoyed it after the busy time I've hadGoing to treat myself to some scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream in a short while - and will then think about an early night, even though I'm half expecting a phone call from my OH (I can always 'take the phones to bed' in case he does call).
If it stays nice overnight / tomorrow morning, then my first job of the day is applying teak oil to my garden furniture. After that I'll decide whether I'm staying out working in the garden (though it won't be fence painting - that can wait until the next nice weekend), or if I'm coming back in to do some 'proper' decluttering.
Still got a most 'distinct' shiner from yesterday morning  Starting to think it will still be more than a little obvious when I go back to work on Tuesday, so could get some 'interesting' looks from customers - especially as I'm on my own for 3 hours of my shift, so can't hide myself away in the back of the bakers and avoid anyone who wants a loaf slicing.......Cheryl0 -

Have spent about a tenner today at the pub with OH and doggy and the corner shop. Was never going to be a NSD, so £10 is much better than it could have been - we all walked to the pub (dog too), had three drinks in the beer garden in the sun and walked home again resisting the takeaway.
I have everything we need for tomorrow so am hoping for a NSD, have plenty of school/uni work to do and will walk the dog for exercise.
I have £12 in my purse and am hoping to get to at least Wednesday without using any more cash than that.

Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for all the good wishes. I was pretty stressed when I lost my old job, so it's such a relief to know that soon I'll have money coming in (besides benefits). I'm not in loads of debt, but I do have a couple of overdrafts, and it'll be nice to be able to see them get smaller!
I had my first day today, and didn't spend money! So am on NSD number 8 for this month!0 -
OMG, CW, what a day! Well done on you.
I was no where near as productive - the sun took care of that! I started with good intentions, plugging away at some volluntary work - but then we went out to Broadway market in East London (didnt buy anything but enjoyed the atmosphere), then on to Victoria Park where we had never been before, then down to the ICA to see a film. I got showed up by a friend when I was last there, so I had £8 of credit and my ticket this time was free! OH then bought me some cheap chinese food for dinner, and we're home without me having spent anything!
So there you are, a very unlikely NSD!!! lucky number 7 for me :TMortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

Have I missed the recipe for the chockie-fudge
..seriously..I much prefer using a 'tried & tested' from someone on here, than an air-brushed mess in a recipe book!
Looks like our nite out has come at the right time with all the celebrations. Did I see someone say they're getting the tickets for the coach? That poor driver will need a holiday after spending the evening with us, so don't forget to make a cake as a thank-you BDINI :rotfl:
BigMummaF, i'm bad at recipes, i just make things up as i go along, but the fudge cake is just a standard sponge, replacing 1oz of the flour with cocoa powder. The icing is melted dark chocolate mixed with butter & icing sugar, & then a little bit of warm milk to make it glossy & spreadable. Sorry theres no quantities but i tend to make it by sight.
I shall make us all a rhubarb & custard cake on Monday to cheer up the first day of the working week (& post the recipe too).
I booked coach tickets today to get to the airport for my jollies, totally forgot about transport to Glasgow, but i will get on it now... was thinking of booking the beer bus i once went to a party on, fab it was, free booze for hours   it only drove us to a nightclub in town, but i'm sure a cake for the driver will persuade him to take us a bit further!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Very pleased with myself that i caught the last bus home after work drinks last night instead of spending on a taxi (& i drank really slowly so i didn't have to buy many) & today my only spend was £11 on groceries & no rubbish (my treat was a jar of low fat peanut butter so i will finally use up some muffins that have been in the freezer forever!!), i even tried to spend that giftcard & couldn't find anything i thought i needed enough to buy it!!!!
Not so pleased that i didn't make huge inroads into the ivy, i felt really lazy & spent too much time sat outside with a cuppa & a book, oh well, just have to work harder tomorrow i guess!!!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -

You really do seem to have turned the corner now - well done, great to see. Glad you had a really lazy afternoon - you deserve it after the past week:A
boultdj: sounds as though you’ve been having a busy day today as well, hope it was good.:) Weeds :eek:....... bloomin’ things, I’ve spent a lot of today removing the same ones I removed last weekend:eek:

Well done to everyone, you're all doing brilliantly, and a big hug to anyone who thinks they need one.
