I'm off to the airport now and may be tempted by something in the duty free
so won't declare anything for today - I shall let you know what happens tomorrow!

BigMummaF, you truly are the ultimate mother!! :A :A :A
Thanks so much for the suggestions - hopefully with your help I will become a much better stepmother :j I think I mainly need to plan ahead more, and get him more involved with things around the house. There's loads of good suggestions there, am looking forwards to putting them into practice. I think I also need to limit TV hours, he tends to sneak off as soon as I'm not looking back to his beloved Miss Montana. The hardest bit is achieving this without being the proverbial wicked step-mother!
I know what you all mean about the sponsoring, seems like every week someone at work is asking for money (usually for toddlers throwing wellies at the local preschool!). They seem to ask the boss first, who sets a precendent of £5-10, so everyone feels they should follow suit. I'm getting less and less ashamed about only sponsoring £1-2, every little helps and when I'm debt free I'll be more generous. I also try to give more of my time to charity to compensate, havent got as far as running anywhere yet though!
willbdebtfree, cant you count the water as a medical emergency therefore saving your NSD?! Seems as shame to lose it over a 38p bottle of water
I am declaring early today as NSD number 7 - yippee!! Theres no reason why I shouldn't get four in a row and be at 11 by Friday. Will probably pop back later anyway, happy NSD's everyone! xxTrying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -

I seriously have no objection giving money to charity (well certain charities) but I am finding it increasingly hard. Loads of people do Race for Life now and also found out that another family member is running a marathon. What's awful is you go on their 'Donation Page' and find that every one else has been donating £20-£30!! and I feel darn tight only donating £5. I've spent £54 (OMG) on charity donations (Including a charity night) so far this year, but I still have a marathon and the rest of the year to go! Good god I wish I hadn't totalled it all up! Ah well it is all for good causes and I only give to Charities that mean something to me or I think are really worthwhile. Perhaps it will rule out some of my badness
What does everyone else give when they are sponsoring someone? If you don't mind me asking
Not a quickie really - but I type reeeeeallly fast. Oh guess what? It's lunchtime....£71.93/ £180.000 -
If you re-arrange the letters in C-A-R-P [or K], you'll get another word for brown, smelly stuff
I left a message for my boss once, saying there was a load of carp in the fridge at work, & he asked me where the fish were :rotfl:
:doh:Oh...that karp. Thanks very much BigMumma:T. Must remember that.
:rotfl:about the fish.
Slowlyfading: Hope you have a good flight.

Have a safe journey SF--will you manage to fit in a sleep while you're soaring with the owls--how long is the flight?
I'd forgotten you'd said about HM Kate! Keep an eye out for a tape recorder & get him singing into that
Charity is difficult isn't it? I guess the only way around it, is to say that you have your "own way of contributing but I wish you well with your walk/ weigh-in/ wellie-wanging/ *enter wottevva here". A lot of folk do have standing orders etc for their extra-special chosen fund-raising, so I don't think many would object if you declined an offer to sponsor. Still hard to put into practise tho...

Had a good nsd at work today - didn't get home till gone 6 and came home a different way which doesn't take me past supermarket and clothes shops, and turns out to be half a mile shorter too! Have had a productive day - have started getting a list together of stuff I want to achieve and am steadily getting there - I'm convinced I suffer from SAD cos can't get anything done from September till about now each year! Or it could be I need to hibernate:pMortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Sunday and Monday are spending days for me, I'm afraid - perhaps if I pay up-front (pay for 5 and get 1 week free) at slimming class, I can change Mondays to NSDs - it will have to wait until I can afford to pay up-front like that - maybe one to sort out for next month
Should be NSD's for me for the rest of the week - until Friday that is - I will report in tomorrow Spoony
:eek: last time I looked, Spoony was a young black male DJ on Radio 1:eek::eek:
PS: Hope you got your NSD today, 3Dogs:):)The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
