SOA, really confused and worrying, BR date 31st March

Please help me again folks!! I am so confused with the SOA. Both me and OH are going BR so do i half everything on each of our forms or put the whole amount down?? I am on Incapicity benefit due to accident resulting in breaking my back, do i put all of this down on form and also do I have to put SOA without our debts or do I fill it in with our current debts???? Sorry for all the questions, it's just i need to get this completed asap. Many thanks!!

you do yours oh does theirs,so put the full amount down but in the income you put their share of the expences so eg if you spend £400 on food for 2,on your form put £400 but on the income you should be showing getting £200 from your oh to balance it out.
  • ah right ok thanks Sniggings, also my daughter has a pony (which grandparents paid for for her) I pay for it each month, can i put this down or will it not be allowed?? Obviously I can't tell a 7 year old that she can no longer have her pony???

thats a hard one,as kids are allowed,i not sure on this i think its £5 a week for stuff like that, yes tyou can put it down as its an expence you pay but whether its allowed is another matter, the OR might allow some, say £5 a week or even all or may say some needs to come out of any excess you have left, but by all means put it down, you might not even be looking at a payment order anyway.
  • well this is another thing, we have £500 surplus after doing our SOA, this is obviously without any debt, so with that amount left over, are we likely to have to do a payment order?? I sorry to be thick i just don't get this!!!!

(tried looking for te soa form for you to fill out but cant find it maybe someone will post it)

    i've just found this info:

The percentage the OR can take for an IPA depends upon the excess:

    Between £100 and £249 = 50%
    Between £250 and £349 = 60%
    Between £350 and £499 = 66%
    £500 or more = 70%

70% is the max the OR can take so even if you have £2000 DI the OR can only take 70%.

    hope this helps
  • we have 2 cars infact but do i put this down as the one my OH uses belongs to his dad who pays for tax, insurance and my car is owned by my mum but we pay tax insurance etc etc. My oh is retained firefighter so hence why we need 2 cars.
