I do have a new breadbin though - the one being replaced is over 20 years old and exH bought it with the GF he lived with before he met me

Ooh - I fancy a new one of those. Mine is not quite as old (big, white plastic rectangle from Betterware), but I'd like something prettier. It would need to be big, though. Where did you get yours?

I'm very jealous of all of you with chickens... but I really don't have the space - and more importantly the time :(

Me too, but it's a complete non-starter here. A couple of weeks ago both kids (and DH) tried to talk me into it, but they need the garden for playing and it would be the last straw for potentially toxic neighbours. They flipped when we had some topsoil dropped off outside their house. NN on the other side has a bird phobia and OCD issues around germs. As our kids play together, I can't see her being too happy either. Her DH probably wouldn't mind.

The three bird roast is just about completely demolished I'm afraid and, ~drum roll~ it was a HUUGGGGEEE success. Really tasty, juicy and just perfect. I surpassed myself!

That's some meal you've created. I'm totally in awe. My fried sausage hotdogs with onions and mushrooms don't quite measure up, but we enjoyed them anyway :D.

Hex - I didn't know there was a book. Will have to have a look on Amazon later. DS1 is still waiting for the new Skulduggery Pleasant (his Easter Egg substitute), but I wanted to look for something for a friend, anyway, so I'll indulge.

Cheers Greenbee I now have a pile of wet washing at my feet and another load in so will thank you for it in the morning. ;) Before I had kids I couldn't content myself, if I sat on my bum for 5 mins I was bored, constantly had ants in my pants!!! So I will fold this ready to hang out in the morning (weather prevaling) so thank you one job off my list but after I have done this I will just chill with a beer :D perhaps.....

    Hex - I didn't know there was a book.

It is by Diana Wynne Jones, it is a childrens book but still one of my favourites which is why I am not sure about the film :p. Most of her books are good, fantasy based stuff for older children (and me!). From the reviews it isn't very true to the book though.

Hens - just remember that true free range hens destroy the garden. We trim the flight feathers on ours but they still scramble over the dry stone wall that divides the veg garden from the flower garden and eat everything in sight. I am seriously thinking of pennning them in for a few months but it seems rather mean. I still want a pig too :o

DSs have gone to bed, DH keeps walking sawdust through the house but he has done a good job on the garage. He has made wheeled stands for most of the heavy woodworking machinery which has raised the height so he isn't leaning to use them, and so he can move stuff easily because he won't wait for me to come and do it. Has to save me a lot of work as well which is great.

Well, I'm babysitting tonight, and all week, as OH on silly late shift so no social life for us! No wine or beer in the house either. Watched Dr Who. Not overly impressed, but that'll be because I'd cross hot coals for DT!

Have washed all downstairs windows today, upstairs were all done during the week. Several loads of washing done and dry, last one in TD now. Will sweep kitchen shortly and that's me for the week I think! Have made OH mac and cheese for his supper. Might get on with some crochet.

Hugs to all who need them x x

No need to thank me ;):p

I'm bored... but I have no small things to do... If I start flying it means either the study (taking stuff off shelves, washing them down, putting them back), the kitchen (major, major deep clean needed) or the sitting room (furniture moving). All of them involve major upheaval and moving of stuff... can't even seem to settle to reading.

Maybe I should just make up my bed (it should have aired by now) and have a bath and an early night... :o
