    Morning eveyone,:)

Dom't know if this is the place for this but here goes........
Just a tip for those stretching the pennies this week, at the weekend I bought cooking bacon from Lidl SO far it has made Sunday breakfast,, bacon butties, 1 large and 1 small quiche(with eggs onion and cheese) and cheesy jackets (potato scooped out of skins mixed with cooked bacon pieces and onion and cheese, butter and 1 egg (optianal) put back in skins and heat in oven or if mix is hot pop under grill) or freeze for later date. Hope this helps someone.:)
Not added amounts up for first spends this month, have been too busy cooking!!;) will try to post later.

Oooh I bought a £1 bag of baking potatoes in Asda yesterday completely forgetting that Mr Gin is away this weekend. Will try the scooped jackets and will freeze them. If I manage it I will even go to Mr M for some £1 bacon! Thanks!!

    Hello

I was just wondering if I could join you guys? I've been monitoring my shopping spends for around a year now and still finding it difficult at times to try and stay under £250, I'm thinking I might manage it this month which is rather suprising as there were 5 main shopping days instead of 4 this month *shrug* :)

At home all the time is me and 2 cats, DH is a long distance coach driver so not always home and we have his 2 boys nearly every weekend.

I really need to start meal planning properly but the problem I have is DH is very picky! If I plan something for a night next week, he'll say ok now and then on the night planned turn around and say he doesn't fancy it :o Financially we are getting rough again so need to monitor it more closely.

So can my May total be £250 please for when it starts?

My April total so far is £188.16/£250 but I need to go shopping tonight, done mysupermarket and expecting to spend between £40-£50 as my freezer is almost empty as I've stopped buying food for it so that DH didn't have a choice, he had to eat whatever was in the freezer :)

Going to look at some of the recipes at the start too as some sound very nice :)

Declaring at €445 for April - even adding in DH's purchases keeps me €5 under!!! Amazingly he actually stuck entirely to the list, which was of general essentials that we'd need next week but not necessarily this week! !

In the meantime, I may have to get a few things tonight or tomorrow for more emergency visitors (it's a waiting game and Grandad's heart is stronger than anyone expected). BUt I will take those from May's budget and I have enough things to deal with everything as it happens . I'd just like to get an extra hour or two to make a few easy oven reheat dinners for my gran and aunt as they are running on empty at this stage.

Nasi goreng tonight, with leftover rice from last night and loads of veg. Can even stretch that if my bro and fiance arrive today after all, which is great.

Sorry I haven't been around - I have had little or no connection at home :(

Spent another £2.59 on Monday on cat food and milk, and although I am confident I won't spend any more before Friday, I'm going to wait to count my chickens! Plan to spend the weekend meal planning and making a shopping list so is it alright to wait until then to give my figure for next month?
