Hi all
Just reporting last spend of the month. Over the last week I've spent £34 - but must admit found it difficult not to drift back to my old ways of popping to the shops every other day - so new month fresh start I think!
My final spend is £149 against a budget of £140 so didn't quite make it but I am still really impressed with myself as after looking at my last three credit card statements I spent double that - easily:j.
My aim this month is make my own lunch for work everyday and the money I save on that should allow me to stock up my freezer a bit as it's looking very low......
This is my first month doing the GC so I just want to say a big thanks to everyone as not only have I saved money but because I'm meal planning( of sorts) and cooking more meals from scratch I am actually eating much healthier than I used to as well.
Can you please put me down for £140 again for May. This is for all food, petfood & cleaning stuff. Wine, takeouts, toliteries etc come from my 'spending money' budget - which is probably the next area I need to sort out
Bye for now

oh dear. Saw some bargains in Tescos and nipped in for them. Another £15.08 spent, but I did get 3 bags of quorn pieces for £1 each and 2 bags of quorn dippers for £1.09 each. Also double pack of bacon for £2. (and some chocolate muffins).0

Well spent £2.91 in Coop last night, totally unnecessary, but nevermind! Got some salad dressing and some of the new Walkers crisps. I have to try them all
£3.06 in Sainsburys today. I was lured in by the buy one get two free Pringle offer. Also got some bubble bath and some reduced crumpets for the freezer. Did get some tablets too, but i'm not counting that sort of thing, only toiletries.
I'm not planning on spending anything tomorrow so I am going to declare my April total now as £64.45. Quite happy with that as despite putting my total up £10 this month, I think I have still come in under what I usually spend. I don't think I realise that I spend quite a bit on fruit as eat it everyday, so will factor that in.
So, I am going to go for £60.00 in May please. I have a full freezer and loads of stuff in the cupboards and really must start using it. I feel an inventory coming over the weekend!Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

trip to mr m today for the £4 offer, the store had decided against the 'have to buy it all' to get the offer, and instead had priced all individually so they could be bought separately,
they had
6 rashers of bacon for a pound
four eggs for 50p
1 litre of orange juice 50p
tin of branston beans 50p
50p loaf of sliced white bread
50p, small tray of button mushrooms
50p for four tomatoes.
so we had a yummy fry up for our tea tonight, yum x
