I used to do things like this when mine were little
One of my ever-lasting memories was No2 Offspring running to the front door & shouting gleefully to the other two "Hey! We've got chicken bones for dinner!" & me hurriedly assuring the neighbours we were having chicken WINGS with salad :rotfl:We had hard meat [pork], hard bread [uncut & in the days before I made my own], round meat [luncheon meat] & cowboys breakfast--nothing more than a value version of a mixed grill
I think green trees was my biggest triumph, as they happily ate raw carrot & cauli but were suspicious of broccoli..ahhh..those were the days! I used to cut a face out from the top slice in their sandwich, or use pastry cutters to jazz up a meat paste sarnie, while those little bread rolls had slits cut into the top & bits of cheese & cucumber became the spines of a hedgehog. And d'ya know? I kinda miss doing things like that; don't think I'd get away with it now they're all grown
What a laugh! That reminds me of when I was wee, if my Mum said it was scrambled eggs, no way would I eat it, but if she called it " Eggo Scrambolo" well, that was different and I loved it! We still call it that and Im 50 now!!!:rotfl:

Well after all my earlier determination it looks as if i`m going to end up over budget this month after all.
Apparently there is a water leak somewhere and i`ve arrived home from w*rk to find that we have no water!
We were having mixed salad which i was about to prep and wash but if the water isn`t back on soon then i shall have to do a quick supermarket dash
Normally this wouldn`t present too much of a problem food wise as i would just take something i prepped earlier out of the freezer but we have been using up all that kind of stuff so the only things left have yet to be made into things IYKWIM
Huge frozen gammon anyoneEven the tins etc have been run right down ready to get the kitchen fitted soon.
HMMM maybe we shall end up with a takeaway but it will blow all my hard w*rk to stay withing the budget this month.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
