Hello everyone!
I've been working very hard at tracking our numbers this month and was quite sure that I'd posted on here with our target of £340. Looking back through the posts, it looks like I didn't actually make it onto the thread
Anyway, we're currently at £230 with this week's shop done today and included. This week should only need a bread and f&v top up of less than £10 so we're looking very good to hit our target.
I've also looked through the 'spares' cupboard today and we've got tons of bits in there that need using up. Quite pleased with that as well as hadn't looked properly last week.:TCC1 £5999 Total Debt March 2021 £5999

I hadn't realised that Tescos had stopped taking the Farm Food vouchers I really must meet target this month.
Tomorrow we are having a joint of gammon which is huge! Any ideas of how I can use up the large amount of left overs that I know there will be?

When did they stop taking FF vouchers I also hadn't realised?
Gammon, I think I'd make a pea and ham soup (soak some peas overnight, chop and saute an onion with the diced ham, add the peas and ham stock and simmer until soft, season afterwards so it's not too salty) and some ham fried rice (boil rice and leave to cool, fry in a large frying pan with some sesame oil, a chopped onion, frozen peas, chopped pepper and the ham and then throw in an egg and stir through at the last minute, season with soy sauce) or a chicken and ham supreme (diced cooked chicken and ham, chopped onion and mushroom, melt some butter and saute all, stir in some flour and then milk) serve with mash or rice or in a jacket potatoe.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

NJW69 - Tescos stopped taking the FF vouchers just this week! That's me having to do more of my shopping else where. I find Tescos so expensive for a lot of things that I will only now shop there for the offers & other things that I have to get such as gluten free food that I cannot get in the cheaper supermarkets. hello all, i have paid the price for not posting daily, got £60ish to see me through to end of month, we have had a very social time and meals out and takeaways all count towards my gc! (these school holidays make me think i'm on holiday, but can't afford 16 holiday weeks a year!) have now finished the storecupboard challenge started in november, and now have to transfer the stuff i've bought since (on offer in bulk) out of the upstairs cupboard and into the kitchen.
good luck everyone

Went a bit silly in MrT & stocked up on things like red lentils & couscous, & also the offers that are due to end this week. I am now the proud owner of 12 tins of sardinesbut in my defence, Pup & I will have a tin each with veggie couscous as our evening meal.
A tad under £6:60 a day left, but everything is in for tomorrow's meal at least & there's plenty of fruit & milk--the usual culprits to force me into a shop before I really want to go--so I'm not expecting to have to spend anything now till at least Tuesday.

Hi all,
i have tried to search the forum for ideas but its a little overwhelming lol.
I have set myself a budget of £50 a month on food for 2 adults 2 cats and a dog. you may gasp but have survived very well on £80 but its using ready meals and pre packaged items. Therefore the extra can come off my credit cards
Can someone guide me with getting this to £50 and i dont mind cooking. Have slow cooker, steamer etc although i can only online shop and this costs £5 delivery each time. Are veg boxes/meat boxes cheap?
Dont require milk as have a milk man seperately budgeted.
Maybe meal ideas or stock items.
Even if its a link to a useful thread.:)
Just lost lol and any help would be appreciated.

Hi
I shop online with Sainsburys and if you spend over £100 and have it delivered Tues, Weds or Thurs delivery is free. This could be an idea if you can store this much stuff ( you do not say whether you have a freezer) The only problem with this is that fresh stuff has to be bought in extra. But I tend to do a big shop (usually just over £100) once a month and then buy bread, milk and veg as needed.
Also if you shop with them they sometimes send codes for free or cheap deliverys.
I hope this helps a little
Cuddles:)
