Not been posting as DD2 and I have been 'doing things' with the three GK, her own 20 mnth twin girls and DD3s 9yr old boy. They get on amazingly well and he tires the babies out so they sleeeep at night lol.
I have however been reading posts and keeping up with you all. Loving BigMumma's philosophy lol. Welcome to the newbies - you'll love it here:beer:
At the moment I have £38.28 left in the kitty out of £250 (15%) with nearly 50% of the month to go :eek:. Not quite as bad as it sounds as all the main meals are present and accounted for, with only top ups of bread, milk, eggs etc to come. It is going to be very close though and I must stop buying bargains even though they are good. (Kn**r chicken stock cubes in HB 35p instead of 99p in Mr A and  £1.20  in Mr T.) From today only essentials may be purchased lol. I have a bad feeling about this... watch this space.Dor0 -
A day of firsts for me - Brought the malt ready for malt loaf, it cost £3.25 which I thought was expensive but first time ever brought it so dont really know.
Also put three bananas in the freezer that were going a bit brown, would normally throw them in the compost bin but remembered all the comments some of you had posted about them tasting like ice-cream so thought would give them a go. :A
Have updated signature to cover todays spend.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Hi everyone, just logged on to update my total, not doing too badly considering it's the School hols but to be fair we have been out and about a lot and eaten out which comes out of a different budget otherwise total would be bust by now.:o
Dinner tonight is our usual fish, chips and mushy peas.
Will need to pop to shops tomorrow to stock up on some more fruit, think another visit to Aldi's is needed, the kids can eat a whole box of their Grapes in one sitting but at 69p I don't mind.
Have a good weekend everyone.:D"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

Hi Billie-jo,
It depends what size jar you got. Mine was a 340g jar and cost about £1.50 - £1.80 if I remember rightly.

Been shopping in Mr Ms today, and got a nice surprise...Be***rd Ma****ws Turkey ham was on BOGOF last week and I was sure it was to last longer then this week...but there was no sign of the offer today...got two anyway as DS2 loves it...on reading receipt...it is still on offer! :j Might go back tonight...forgot to get DS2 Edam cheese...so may get a couple more packs and freeze them!
Not planning on spending anything over the weekend...but may put in an AP order tonight...been thinking about it for a while...and fancy their tinned toms as well as a few other things.
Of to have a lie down before getting tea ready...DS2 is making pizza for himself...have tom sauce left over from the meatballs a couple of days ago...I might ask for one too, though thinking of having a baked pot with tuna mixed with some of the tom sauce...sounds good methinks!!
Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi all
Just a quick update. I was doing really well until OH decided (without me asking - a first!!) that we needed some catfood and litter so popped into Mr T's on the way home from work last night - he then liked the look of the £9 meal deal but didn't think it was enough for the two of us so picked up an extra 2 side dishes.........anyway spent £22 on some cat bits and one meal! Served up the meal deal -which was plenty - and popped the 2 side dishes into the freezer - and he didn't even notice! Nice though.....
Anyway decided to get the main shop in tonight as have a busy weekend. Spend £9 in T and £15 in Co-p but got lots of store cupboard stuff and reduced fruit and veg. Going to try and make a choc cake at weekend - not made one for years - so any simple receipes welcome!
Updated sig - and only got £45 left for mth - which ends on 30 April for me - so will be tough but still have lot's in freezer so gonna try my best.
take care everyone:D

Another nsd for me, since I have stopped popping into supermarket on way home it is really helping my budget. I miss popping into the shops though, how sad it that! really trying to see it as a bonus to have extra time instead. Must shop tomorrow though for fresh fruit and bread.Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.0

I have been good and spent only £1 on milk over the past week but today is the big shop day and I'm off to Mr T's later. I hope to spend less than £40 (as always!) but never seem to quite manage it.
Must try harder!0
