  • Morning everyone, and lots of luck for April's challenge.

I'm going to slightly lower my budget to £160 please Mrs M. First shop of the month should be in a couple of days so will be amending my total then. I think we have enough to get us through until then.

    Hiya,

Please put me down for £400 again this month. I am getting better at meal planning proper meals but just need that extra bit of leeway at the moment.

    Good luck everyone x

I am working on my shopping list for this weekend. I have to get a few things to stock up on (like snack packs of crackers as we used the last one for lunches today). And although we'll be away for the weekend, we'll have to buy some stuff for the house there. But I am also bringing my baking ingredients from the house here, to make a chocolate fudge cake with mini eggs on top for Sunday (also serves as useful distraction for DD on Saturday to make it) - I only need to buy eggs and cream.

I'll work on my menu plan too and hopefully post that before this evening.

Can I join please? I've been lurking around for a couple of months and think it's about time I sorted myself out! I've read most of March's posts and feel really inspired.

Please put me down for £140 for April. That's for me, OH & two greedy cats.

Strange as this might be I'm really rather excited:rotfl:

Hi and welcome Missy Dee :hello:

I don't think it strange at all, as a newbie last month myself I fully appreciate the excitement of the challenge. I wish you all the very best and hope you manage to get to the end of the month and get the enormous boost when you achieve your goal. Your household is exactly the same as mine so I will watch your achievement closely and see if over time I can get my budget down closer to yours. The others here on the thread help, inspire and support so much, its wonderful. Good luck

Well, I have to go and do my first shop of the month shortly which will include some extra bits for Saturday when we have friends around for OH birthday. I'm a litle worried about it as I don't want to blow the budget after the success of last month but I do need to ensure we have enough for a good welcome iykwim.

I'll post up the damage (and update sig) later when I get back.

    Take care,

    Morning,

Just had a Mr A shop delivered, £115.12, so hopefully that should keep the kids fed and happy for the first few days of the holidays. I have written a menu plan and am hoping to do lots of baking to keep them occupied. Is it just my house but do all their friends suddenly descend at lunchtime??!!!

    Enjoy the long weekend.:)

    Hi
Just checking in after my first shop of the new month. This is my biggest shop where I stock up on cleaning materials, tins and packets and loo roll etc as well as buying the meat and fish for the month, so I had estimated £150 for this week and it came in at: £148.76! So I am a happy bunny.

Most of the shopping was done at Sainsbury's, though I went to Boots first to se if I could get that £10 in extra points offer but the machine just said that there were 'technical difficulties' and the offer wasn't available today! (I bet the 'technical difficulties' were cause by MSers flocking to the shop to get their free tenner!) Any way, I shall try again next week. I popped into the 99p store in stead and got toothpaste and stuff there, so that was ok.

Thanks to all who replied to my sausage roll question - I think they will be fine in the freezer till the big birthday!

Off to clean the house now. Have a good rest of the day folks.

    Moniker

PS: Lizziebabe I PM'd you the recipe you asked for - let me know if goes ok.

Well, so much for what I said. Had to pop to Mr A's last night for a couple of Easter eggs (hate it when OH suddenly says "Oh have you bought so and so an egg?"), and managed to spend £14.95. I know its setting foot in a supermarket that sets my buying habits off. If I dont go shopping I feel all virtuous, but put me in the supermarket and I cannot say no!! Stupid really as the cupboards and freezer were already overloaded, now I've got stuff on the worktops. In my defense I bought 2 caulis for 24p each and 2 red peppers for 10p each. Also a dozen FR eggs for £1.10 (bbf date 6th April). Its the rest of the stuff I didn't need.

Anyway, I cannot go anywhere near a shop except in an emergency for the next 4 weeks:eek:
