Doorstep visits without prior agreement are outwith the rules.
  • hi,

was wondering since I was clamped by PCN-UK LTD who don't seem to be registered does that change matters even though we paid Vibe Leisure?

It's certainly unusual that they like to clamp under one name and accept money under another. Either they are using up old bits of printed paper and are cheapskates (as previously suggested by another poster) or there is some more sinister reasoning behind the arrangement.

Remember the BPA is not an official Government organisation, merely a trade one. Being a member of the BPA does not negate the need for non-frontline SIA Vehicle Immobilisation licenses (by law) for the directors.

If these jokers clamped my car I'd be hiring an angle grinder, and if their heavies came near me whilst I took the clamp off, I'd angle grind their limbs off.

""Vibe leisure limited has now become a member of the British Parking Associations approved operator scheme. Only the most professional operators are able to join the scheme as the compliance criteria of the BPA approved scheme is rigorous and looks at the whole of your company management and its activities before membership is granted. ""
ie. can you stump up our fee

""Companies also have to further undergo regular compliance checks to make sure that operators fulfil the required standards.""
ie. can you continue to pay our fee.

That's all that matters to them.
    One question about Ranger Services.
They buy our details from DVLA, are they ,under DPA rules, then able to sell on to any ppc which does not want to stump up the BPA fee?

I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Images of the clamping notice and receipt have now been posted on Pepippo (on the "PCN-UK LTD clamping Charge" thread).
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Hi would just like to say 'thank you' for all of your advice to date, i am unable to post images (paperwork regarding my clamping) due to being a new user on this site although I have been able to upload them on Pepipoo (lets see if I get a summons for breach of the Copyright Act) lol I have filed an appeal although not through the website as numerous required fields on the form are not listed on my receipt i.e Reference Number, Time of release and signature and name of clamper, I will keep in contact as to any further developments

    thanks again

They have tried to pull that "copyright" trick in a previous case. Nothing ever came of it. None of the paperwork you scanned even as the copyright symbol on it. They are just lashing out because they have been caught out. Typical bully-boy tactics.

Three more images have now been posted on the Pepippo forum. Included is a sign which shows white tape pasted over existing lettering and "Vibe Leisure" added instead, together with "revised" parking fees. Another shows a sign with the website address "www.parkingvl-uk.com" which is not valid.
