In one of their previous incarnations - around about September 2009 - Vibe Leisure was linked (or perhaps more accurately, linked themselves) with a Blackpool night club of course although some of the photos from Facebook may be of one or other of the newcomers to the VL boardroom. Amy, previously company secretary, is now a director.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

When you think about it "Vibe Leisure" is not a very good name for a parking company, say compared to such stalwarts as "Parking Control Services" or "LDK Security". In fact the name is more suited to the manufacturer of rather dubious sex toys.

Since when has that stopped things!

I note that in some of their job adverts they are looking for staff to, amongst other things, tout from debt cllection work. This would seem to suggest that they will need a Comsumer Credit Act licence but there doesn't appear to be one in their name. Strangely there are two other CCA licenced companies at the Reg. Office in Railway House and both of their licences lapsed earlier this year.

The "debt collectors" are just fist draggers who go visit people's addresses. They think scare tactics and harassment will make people pay up.

True - but I suspect that if one of these low-life actually turned up at the door, many people would still be intimidated, and the police would fail to act.

Also, the on-line form they offer from the website for paying your "fine" is unsecure. Credit card details for everybody to see!

This has just popped up on another thread on this forum:-

    Hi,
I am looking for some advice about having my car clamped by PCN-UK LTD. Myself and my partner were visiting Halo Nightclub in Warrington on 1/4/2010. We returned to our car approx 2hrs later to find it had been clamped by the above organisation. We where told to pay a £120.00 release fee to avoid being towed away, we felt very intimidated by the three male staff. We phoned the police to see if the clamping was legal we were told "If the company has signs up it was legal" we did not see any signs and the carpark was not lit and there were no designated car parking spaces. We paid the fine, and this morning searched the website to complain and were told to put in all of our personal details on the form (which I am wary of doing, after some research has revealed this firm seems a bit dodgy).

Any advice as to what to do next would be greatly appreciated,

Is this a case of Vibe Leisure using old PCN-UK paperwork?

  • hi,

yes sorry have just started a new thread on this issue (still learning how to navigate site), The leaflet informing me my car had been clamped was issued by PCN-UK LTD with the fileds address and yet the receipt for payment they gave me had Vibe Leisure Limited, Railway house address in chorley on it!

    getting a bit confused now!

Was the paperwork signed? and did it have the required SIA licence number? Knowing these clowns, probably not.

I doubt Vibe Leisure is licensed to clamp vehicles. Yes the people they hire probably have front line SIA licenses, but I seriously doubt any of the directors have non-front line licenses (per PCN-UK Ltd). The usual thinking they can get away with it by calling the clampers "self-employed" but they are still under the direction of the company - clamping companies have been busted for this in the past.

We really need a one-stop plan of action for this company, re: complaining to trading standards, SIA, reminding land owner the company is unlicensed and employing unlicensed companies can lead to substantial penalties etc. When it comes to taking the company and land owner to court, if there are no signs - with a rogue company like this you have to wonder if Vibe Leisure really were acting in the interests of the property owner and had a contract or not. I am sure Vibe Leisure Ltd would have no interests in paying any money ordered to by a court and can give the usual run around rogue clamping companies do.

The sooner this scam is shut down the better.
