ageandjo & Essex-girl - another slacker here! Actually I have done everything I had to do today, plus I had a 15 hour day yesterday, so a little bit of MSE time is more than justified!
Lillibet - you have my sympathies re: Xmas/MIL. This year will be our first Chrsitmas at home for many a year - so far I'm keeping my head down & hoping they'll all presume we're going skiing like normal :D. Happy Birthday Spud!
    Queen.Bess - hello

Another quickie as although hand and arm are much better typing and scrolling on the net are def making it worse... 'snot fair! :(

Thanks for your concern Queenie. I'm booked to see the doc in a week or so, so will mention it then - hopefully it will be long gone by then.

    Happy 1st b'day to spud!

Kyle - 'toddler taming' by Christopher green has some excellent tips on sleep.
    Sympathies to you.

Sorry, lots I wanted to say, have finally got through all the thread but my hand is getting really achy and have to take care of it or the kids'll starve!
Will try to pop on again later

Nicki - sorry to hear you're having such a bad day with the freezer and the veg. Our fridge/freezer gave up the ghost in that hot spell in 2003, apparently the heat was all too much for it :(

Thriftlady - Hope your DD is feeling much better now.

Lillibet - Congratulations on Spud's birthday, I hope you all have a wonderful day :)

((Hugs)) to all that need them/want them.

Last night I took the fabric back to the shop, they were most unapologetic for what was their mistake, however, today they seem to have sourced another roll of the fabric, so fingers crossed I actually get this soon so that I can make the hall curtains before Christmas! I have informed them however that they will need to get it delivered as I am not driving another 40mile round trip to pick it up at my expense.

Tootles - thanks for the quilting thread, you've got some wonderful quilts there, most inspiring, I spent a long time attempting to find a weekend quilting course or similar, and failed dismally :(

Today DD and I have been very busy :) We've done 2 loads of washing / mown the lawn / made some paper bricks / prepared apricot crumble and I'm currently making a tomato sauce (from our and MIL's gardens) .... and cleaned all of the surfaces in the kitchen thoroughly including the cooker top, which with the aid of vinegar and bicarb has come up beautifully.

Also, I've ordered the yohurt maker from Tchibo, so hopefully should get that soon .. any ideas how long?

Spoke to DH last night about finances, he's got his head in the clouds about all of this, and I've told him that I'm going to be doing some extra hrs over the next week or so, to actually finance some of his wild ideas. Resulting in me having to drive 400 miles on Sunday to actually achieve this :(

Tonight I'm off to give blood, it will be my 10th time, and I know that's not much by a lot of people's standards, but I'm so useless at it, I'm pretty proud of this :)

Right, must get on, need to finish the tomato sauce.

    B - Cereal
    L - Crumpets with cheese
D - Canneloni with tomato sauce and cheese sauce with apricot crumble and custard for pud :)

Okay - on here 'cause I need a rant BIG time - and feel as though I'm with friends on here.
I don't know if any of you remember but I've recently spent a LOT of time re-errecting a fence between my neighbours and I. The other fence had collapsed as it had rotted - thanks to them buillding up a level of soil against their side of the fence - about 1 foot high. Ok they'd lined it with the plastic bags from the compost - but as many of you will know that simply disintegrates.
Anyway at a considerable cost to me (time and money) I re-errected a fence. I bought good fence paint and gave both sides two coats. I've errected the fence just within my boundary so there'd be no complaints.
WRONG! First of all she complained that she thought I'd errected it the wrong way round. I hadn't - I've given them the 'tidy' side and me the 'untidy' side (ie they've got the 'top over bottom' side of the feather edge)
Now she says she hates the colour and will be painting it, implying that the colour is in poor taste.
Not only am I irritated at her being so rude about my choice of colour, I am also far from happy about her painting MY fence -esp as it's well WITHIN the boundary, not on it - plus there's room for her to erect her own if she hates it that much. The main reason I'm not happy about this is I know too well how messy their painting is - when they painted the old one we had loads of runs come through the fence making our side look terrible.
I'm so cheesed off with them.
I know that they don't have the right to paint the fence, but what do I have to do to stop them? I'm so proud of my little fence as it is - I'll be gutted if it's spoiled by paint runs!
