Thanks everyone, I knew I could count on all of you to make me feel better.
I did 'suggest' that she could erect her own fence if she was that bothered, but she muttered something about not being able to reach her rose properly if she does.
I didn't say too much at that point as I wasn't sure where I stood legally - however a quick search online showed me that she has no right to touch it.
It's just so upsetting because I had kind of decided to back down on the other 'disagreement' of where the boundary is just to make things amicable again - and then she's got to nit pick over this!
At least it's got me so stressed the pins and needles in my arm aren't bugging me as much as usual!!
Wish I could indulge in a drink - but a few months ago it made me so sick I've been tee totall ever since!
Thanks again all, I really appreciate your support.
DS has worked out how to load the pics from my phone to the pc, so hoepfully soon will be able to share the pics of the work done with those who are interested. Any tips? I thought perhaps loading onto one of those picture sites and then including a link? Any recomendations?

Hello everybody, not been around since Sunday evening really, but have tried to catchup. Really feeling tired and a bit fed up with loads of small irritants going on. Was feeling quite sorry for myself until I've read all your troubles!!

Kaz I'm sorry you've had trouble with your arm and hand, sounds really horrible. And so unfair after all your hard work, although of course that's what's caused it!! And now this fence business!

I really don't think they are allowed to touch it since it falls entirely inside the boundary. I think you're going to have to be straight but firm and tell them you errected it totally inside the boundary since you weren't prepared to have any interference with it. You might have to point out that it didn't help the rot problem that earth was piled against the old one, liners or no. Tell them you left plenty of room for them to errect another fence exactly to their own tastes should they not like your choice. I'd be inclined to try and smile sweetly while pointing out that people have widely different tastes. You, and we know that your taste is no doubt far superior to hers, but she'll be too daft to see that!! You really don't want to be going down the legal route, only the solicitors ever seem to get anything out of it, and many won't even touch this kind of work. Although, having said that a solicitor's letter would be my final resort. I think you're just going to have to lay down the law that it's your fence totally within your land and you will not tolerate them painting it. End of story. Then see what response you get. Anyway :grouphug:
    we're all routing for you.

Now I've forgotten everything else I meant to say. Hope all poorly people are feeling better, especially thriftlady's DD and livinginhope. Oh I know there were others ill but I can't remember!
    I'm going, maybe if I re-read I'll remember things!!

I did have a laugh ageandjo it was you flaunting yourself at the postie wasn't it? So brazen:rotfl: :rotfl: And kiwichick, I'm sure you don't really know the words you put asterisks in!!;) :D You two really cheered me up!

As usual I've taken so long typing, my response is now unnecessary, but I'll leave it anyway!

i agree with churchmouse, kaz if its within your boundary, she hasnt a leg to stand on and has no right to paint it, you have been so proud of your gardening too, shame she had to spoil it x

    Nah-nah-naah-na-naah-nah (in childish sing song)
Thanks for the web address ageanjo - found what I was looking for on there - found a link to a solicitors web site that states that they have no right to paint it - if they do it's criminal damage!!!
Glad to see a post from you Churchmouse - been wondering where you'd got to! I thought perhaps you were busy doing your flylady? :D
I didn't let you down - today I sent the boys to walk the dog and pick blackberries and despite my hand/arm managed to clean the kitchen and the l/room. Aren't I a swot :D
I'd love to join the F/L thread but daren't even look at it as reading and scrolling on the daily thread is as much as I can cope with at the mo.
Twink - my main regret about having worked so hard only to have her whinge is that I didn't bury her when I dug a big hole in the old lawn!
My DS came in and caught me staring at the garden and said ' you'd never have dug it deep enough Mum'. Great minds eh? :D

    Hi everybody

I'm a bit knacked today as well...up in the middle of the night yet again. It drives me crazy! I've done a bit of the flylady challenge, and will report properly on there my accomplishments. I'm going to open a bottle of white tonight and imbibe myself to the land of nod. Naughty I know, but it's a one off and it's for medicinal purposes!!

Nicki...oh your garden, how awful! I would have howled in frustration and annoyance. Maybe next year you could do some veg in tubs and use the compost from your compost heap to fill them. It sounds like your ground is critter heaven.

Kaz...tell that old bag to give over. It's your fence so she can keep her paws to herself. End of. Well, maybe use slightly different phrases to avoid a slanging match... be strong, you have been so proactive about this fence business. She must be one of life's natural born sourpu$$ pessimists, and completely the opposite to you.

I have read the thread..I promise...but forgive me if I don't speak to everyone, I am just too tired. But before I go I think I'll have a try at ageandjo's name calling challenge (for want of a better description!!). In no particular order....

There now, I'm going to stop...I got about 40, I'm all pleased with myself. Big apologies to those I haven't put, I am a bit scatty and sleepy tonight, and it's nothing personal I promise...

The StarDrops are calling, gotta go and post in the flylady challenge then slap a bit wet microfibre cloth around the bathroom...bye!

Kaz I haven't done nearly as well as you!! But have done a bit, and that bit's loads more than I would have done otherwise!!!! Can you follow that? Not sure I can :rotfl: :rotfl:

So the hole wouldn't have been deep enough, would just have made an interesting mound somewhere:rotfl: Rotten cow that she is!

Ooooh I came top of two peoples lists, I am flattered.

Kaz if you want I'll come down and shove the fence where the sun don't shine? :D

See, I made it back safely everyone. The legs are a gonner though! Can anyone explain why they put the Sealife Centre and Think Tank at opposite ends of Birmingham though? We have walked miles and DD bless her did not moan once about her little legs aching until we were on the way back to the Railway Station.

Sealife was a bit expensive, thank the lord I had a voucher to get 2 kids in free, the gift shop was a total rip off! The Sea Turtles were fantastic though and we did miss Nemo's Kingdo, thanks to the carp layout!

Think Tank was brilliant, we will definitely be going again, we could have spent far longer than the 2 hours that we had there. Total spend for the day including tea at McD's, comics for the train and a taxi home from the train station came to exactly £50 so I did not go one penny over budget and even found a great rucksack for DS for school in September for £8!

Tomorrow I am having a rest in the morning, taking DS to be measured for the new school blazer and then Thursday is the working farm at St Augustines. I can't wait for the weekend when I can have a rest!! :D
