    Oh gawd.....

Can you go round there and just have a chat about the fence or is this a no no? Suggest they erect their own fence on their side so they can paint it whatever colour they like?

have a look at the neighbours from hell website https://www.nfh.co.uk I think and on there is a load of things like this. I have nasty neighbours and the site is very useful, I hope it works out.

Kazonline my mum and dad had a similar to-do with neighbours over a fence, hope you feel better for letting off steam -open a bottle of wine;)

My dd has recovered from whatever it was she had. This happens quite frequently actually - sickness in the night. Just wondering if it isn't another allergy/intolerence. Once she's got it out of her system she is fine. It's not like a sickness bug when she's off-colour for 24 hours:confused: I think a food diary is in order.

Kazonline, what a bu99er  You can inform them that touching your fence will be deemed trespass. It's on your side, and if anyone's going to paint it, it'll be you. If they want a different colour, you'll employ someone professional to do it, at their expense.

If they do make a bodge, it's small claims, I reckon. PM me if you want more details, and costs, etc.

BTW, do you know who's responsible for the boundary? It'll be in your deeds. If it's yours, you may like to point that out.

Sorry if this is a bit heavy handed, and a chat will sort things out. Your post implied to me that this has gone past that stage.

    Best wishes, Penny. x

I'm going to merge this with the daily thread, in line with the policy of keeping non money saving chat in one place.

There's a whole thread introducing ourselves in the stickies though if anyone wants to cheat!

Sorry, I meant to say that the posts will be in order of the time they were posted. Sorry if that has confused the flow of conversation.

I really feel for you, fences and neighbours is a notoriously dodgy area - in this house and my last we paid and had all the fences erected all round coz neighbours couldnt be bothered.

I would immed have a glass of wine and a chill. Like you say you cant do anything to stop her painting it - maybe she was all talk and wont actually do it. If you spoke to her again when maybe she is in a more receptive mood would it be possible that she might change her mind? If you know that wont be happening - sit there enjoy your wine and feel glad that you are not a misereable, nit picking **w with no taste like her.
