    *pokes nose around door*

Congratulations to ajax-much happiness to you and Mr Ajax.

HUgs to all that need them

There has been much OS cleaning of my house recently-one of my flatmates is moving out, so we are showing potential new people around today and tomorrow. We have 12 people (!) coming to see the place so hopefully one of them will be nice, and think us and the house are nice too. All the hassle is definitely making wish i could afford to live on my own, but the rent for a studio or 1 bed in London is too much on a researcher's salary. *sigh*

    Have a lovely afternoon everyone.

    Hello all,

I really should try & post here more regularly!

Well, along with Bargain Rzl, I am also jumping on the house buying wagon! After a lot of thought & discussions, myself & OH decided to bite the bullet & buy. We have spent a couple of weeks looking & found one particular place we both liked. So after going back on Saturday for another look, we put in an offer on Saturday afternoon which was accepted on Monday morning!!! I now understand how Rzl felt waiting to hear as it is REALLY nerve racking! So we went to see mortgage advisor yesterday & he advised trying Nationwide first. He called back this morning to say we were in Nationwide's top percentile of scoring criteria, so all looks fine & we are going back on Thursday to finalise the application. I have had a recommendation of a local solicitor from a guy at work whose wife is in the legal business, & their quote seems on a par with others I have looked at. The house is pretty much empty at the moment as the vendor has re-located to London for work (presume she is living/renting down there at least in the week/full time), & we are FTB's in a rented flat, so hopefully we can get moved really quickly. I'm very excited!

I need to do a meal plan for the next few weeks before going shopping after work. We don't seem to have been shopping for ages as have been house sitting for friend's for almost a month, eating their food (at their request!).

One of our friend's got a new puppy last night so I am going to see him on the way home from work. He's a 10 week old standard poodle (big poodle). Cute.

Afternoon all - another late start for me as well. Couldn't be bothered to get out of bed, going to bed at 1am probably didn't help :rotfl: but was woken at 9am by DD wondering where I was :o Post this morning included a nice cheque for £3 from surveys :D and my Healthy living magazine from Tesco with vouchers :D

So far today I have watched 60 Minute makeover, made beds up including putting the quilts back on them due to the drop in temperature around here (I've actually got cold feet at the minute  ), cleaned the bathroom, ran spybot on the computer and cleared the spyware, done all my other online jobs (except check my hotmail, thats next on the list), and sellotaped the backdoor shut :rotfl: Yes, you read that right, I've just sellotaped my backdoor shut to stop the freezing cold draft that was coming in. Much warmer now and the tape-fly-curtain thing is no longer dancing around the kitchen even though the door was shut

Today OH and I have our newly instated "Financial Review" meeting. This had resulted from OH sitting down with me last Wednesday and actually discussing our SOA :j It took us 4 hours to review the past 12 months, and try to see where we can make cutbacks, where we can move money around to pay off his overdraft  and where we will be in 12 months if things carry on the way they are doing. I need to go into Money and print out July's report and sort out a forcast for August so tonight should be interesting.

Right, WM has just finished so I need to go and hang it up in the bedrooms as its too windy to put it out and it keeps raining  Then I need to do the washing up, sort out money and make tea for tonight. Later

You know how you feel when you just want to spoil yourself...but you just can't find anything you want to buy or spoil yourself with. I am so frustrated now....as well as completely knackered.

The one time I feel like a little spend....I can't find anything to spend my cash on. Sigh.

    Hello everyone
Not been around for a couple of days, had DD & family to stay at weekend, then DS1 to take to Gatwick on Monday (leaving here at 4.30am..........) so decided to carry on down the road & visit DD in Portsmouth! Not often I get to see her & the babies quite so soon!
Not really read all posts properly, so just want to say hello & hugs to anyone who is feeling down at the mo.
We had a lovely time on Saturday with friends & family for our 25th.
Hope Vicky & Ajax had wonderful days, too.
Will get back into the swing of things in a day or two I expect, the house still hasn't recovered from the weekend & I haven't recovered from the combination of so many visitors at the weekend & the early morning and so much driving yesterday!
Dinner will be chilli con carne, as I have some cooked mince in the freezer so will be very easy to do.
