(((Hugs))) to Kyle (we cross posted) hope you feel better soon!
Katgoddess - love the scrapbook page! I am trying to do similar with some of our family photos!
Have spent the morning cooking and freezing. Trying to use up all the fresh produce before we go away. So far have a tray of lemon slices in the freezer, a bag of blanched courgette slices and a bag of blanched sweet potatoes in the freezer and am now cooking some roast potatoes ready to freeze aunt bessies style (thank you Sarahsaver for that tip!). About to make a couple of loaves of banana bread and that will take care of the very ripe bananas.
Just need some inspiration for using up 4 large onions!
Washing caught up with but having to dry everything on airer indoors at the moment as don't have a washing line and won't have one until after next week. Guess that delays the ironing tho!;)
Anyone tried making the weetabix cake with the new oatabix? We have a box in as we find the weetabix a bit bloating. I guess I could go experiment.

Onion soup for this weather! Off the top of my head, slice onions thinly, cook with sprinle of sugar and veg oil slowly until caramellised, and liquid reduced. Add dark stock (I like that made with a beef bone) and some Marmite/Worcester sauce to give colour. Season and serve with a cheese crouton (melted cheese on slice of toasted french bread) floating in it.katgoddess wrote:I've started a new hobby. Digital scrapbooking! You can laugh at my first attempt here. The good news is its completely free because I already have the software on my computer and there are plenty of websites out there with free stuff.
Kat, that's lovely! Any tips on how to start? What software do I need?
Shortbread going down well here!

I used paint shop pro to edit my photos and scrapbook factory deluxe for the layout. I already use paint shop pro for my t shirt designs, and editing photos. Somebody got me the scrap booking software so I've been using that. It's $30 dollars to buy. Photomix is suppost to be good and is also $30. You can download a free trial to see if you like it.
There are a few tips on craftster as well.

Good afternoon everyone,
Well, ive managed to sort my airing cupboard out, we can now open the door safely, without having to worry about things falling on you!!! All the towels are together, bedding, spare curtains etc, and ive found a plastic box to put all the spare toiletries in, so im really chuffed with myself!!!!
All the children are fed and watered, and the little one is down for her nap. Im having a quick browse and gearing myself up for the job ive been putting off for weeks now - my oven!!!!!
Right, wish me luck, the oven is a state!!!
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Afternoon all. Sat here reading through a ton of posts which stopped me doing my chores! PP - I do hope things pick up for you, you seem to be going through so much sorrow - just want you to know we're thinking of you.
Age&Jo - £100 vets fees, not bad for a full check-up! j/k - I bet you're mad as hell over it. Troo - don't lose heart. Whenever I've started in business it seemed as though the whole world and his dog wanted to be in on the action (grrrrrr), but didn't have a clue what my goals were. Stick with it, and tell em to sod off when they interfere. Skystar - at the end of every "to do" list write down "make list for tomorrow", that's my last chore of the night
I'm with Seraphina on the brane cells - my memory not good enough to remember everyone who's posted here - sorry.
Today I have cleaned loo / swished bathroom and cleaned litter trays
Fed cats (again) and washed up their dishes - lots of em and no DW
Folded washing, but can't get to the TD in the outside shed, so have to wait for Justin to do that. Will also have to wait for him to take clean pile upstairs - I daren't try to clamber up Everest today as I know I overdid things recently and don't want to overdo things againSo, job 1/4 done.
Fed pond critters - nice easy job and got me out into the fresh air
I wish I were more like Queenie - she puts me to shame. But, I do what I can when I can, so I'm not BAD
Hugs to you all

Afternoon all,
Feeling much better today, although my hand is still swollen fro the pulled out needle!!
Had a mooch round the shops this morning, first time out since saturday. Bought a couple of nice boxes to make up "chill out" boxes for DD and DH for xmas. Also a lovely 'cookie' tin.
DD and I are making a huge batch of fork biscuits with with wholemeal flour with chocolate chips, and cinammon and raisins. WM is on it's 2nd load.
Off on the train to Birmingham tomorrow for the day, getting a bit bored of London and it is so expensive.
Have a good day.0 -
Hi everyone!
Sorry lunchbreak so haven't had time to read the thread yet. So sorry about your news PP- it's hard losing a baby whatever stage of pregnancy you're at as I'm sure many of us can vouch but especially under such traumatic circumstances. No doubt your friend will really need good friends like yourself around her at such a difficult time. Mine have seen me through many a difficult time over the years.
On the OS front I've done a dark wash and hoovered throughout today. My plans for last night went a little awry when I realised that I'd have to leave the front door open all last night to let the paint dry on the inside edge. Perhaps one for this weekend instead methinks!! Naturally you will understand the extent of my devastation when I made this discovery and instead was forced to console myself with an evening of cross stitch:rotfl: :rotfl:
Tonight I shall do the weekly menu and the list for the quarterly trip down to Lidl to stock up [it's not on the doorstep so not cost effective to do it more often]
We've had some good news about OH's business. Only yesterday we were saying that we don't generally get orders except at the shows [he makes miniature furniture] but then would you Adam and Eve it....yesterday two calls. One definite order and another possible plus an unexpected order in today's post. Now where's that celebratory wine I've stashed away!!!!
Have a great day!
