Morning all....((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) to those who need them....

Feeling c**p this morning, did not sleep well last night....... exhausted now, but nothing much to do today so if oh goes to bowls (its raining here) I can have a kip, as long as I do not sleep too long and then can't sleep tonight.

We are off house sitting on Sunday, so may not be on the daily thread.....

    Off for a caffine fix.......................

    Morning all,

A grim grey wet day here ... are you lot sure it's still August and not November?

Fortuitously I got all the washing done and dried yesterday ... and .... I conquered the ironing basket .... it did take from 17:30 to 22:30 (breaking for an hour in the middle to cook/eat dinner) .... but it's done :j :j .

Now, I just need to put it away .. although I may just ask DH to do that ;)

    DW loaded
    BM on

I've also come down with a cold, I could feel it creeping on last night, so it's out with the cold capsules and echinacea, I don't want a cold ... and I certainly don't want DD getting it (results in sleepless nights for us :) )

Today, DD and I are off on a farm shop run as the freezer is empty of meat bar one pork chop and some braising steak. DD is excited about seeing the geese / pigs / cows / sheep and chickens ... so she'd best put her wellies on in this weather! We have 2 good farm shops we use around here, one specialises in pork products, one specialises in beef. There is another one on the edge of the town which I haven't been to .. so may brave that also.

Right, time to get dressed and find my coolbags :)

    ((Hugs)) to all.

JoannasMum - how did you get on with the brick maker?

Just realised Ive got no butter until my shopping arrives (I find I spend less if I order it online) and I havent got enough strong bread flour to make anything. So Im going to pop to Lidl to buy some of theirs later. Ive either got to wait for eldest daughter to come back from work with the car or I can walk down to where she has parked it and pinch it back!

Quick one for PP. I really feel for you and your friend hun. I have been through similar with a friend who realised her baby had stopped moving at 19 weeks. Its the most heart rending think I can think of going through, I'm in tears reliving it TBH. My friend was given very little support by the hospital/docs/midwife after having to deliver the baby and ended up with shocking PND. I know its difficult to know what to say to her and how to help, being there for her to talk/cry/shout at is going to be a big help. Huge hugs to her and to you.

    Morning all,

tired mum - your children migth see my MIL & SIL today as they are off to the palace to see the queen's dresses. Then me and DH will meet them, go for an early meal and then on to see Billy Elliott. Looking forward to that, the last thing we saw in London was the Jerry Springer Opera but I was so ill with a throat and chest infection that I fell asleep half way through the first act and missed the rest of the show:o

Went into Ds's room this morning to try to wake him and nearly got knocked over by the smell - I'm sure something has died in there:eek: . He's under strict instructions to clean out the pit today - I think half my crockery is in there. Only another couple of weeks till he goes back to Uni and then I'll be missing him dreadfully so I shouldn't complain too much.

PP hope things go ok at the hospital - the fact that you got some bad news yourself yesterday (I think I read that) seems to have been buried by your friend's tragedy. Hope you're holding up ok, you seem to have such a core inner strength I feel ashamed for moaning about my ailments which are nothing set beside yours.

  • ((((hugs)))) to all that need them. Thoughts are with you and your friend P-P xx ..................................................... I made the most lush sausage casserole last night  so nice that me, boyf, dad and brother all had seconds!! So there was none in the end to freeze! :p Things seem to be ok with dad and bro at the moment, bro is making a bit more of an effort and last night was really good (they came round to mine) and it was like I'd got my bro back, :o he is lovely really :o He went to court on his own on Tuesday and he got an additional 40 hours community service. He is now looking for a job and is talking about joining the Navy when his community service order is up. Who knows!:p Working at the pub tonight, so will be a late one for me tonight. Have a good day all, take care and (((hugs))) xx

    Morning All!!!

I obviously need to go back and read yesterdays thread but sending hugs to PP and Jan59. Keep smiling and you know where we are if you need to offload.

Like most of us am tired today, got home from work shortly after 5 yesterday, in-laws were sat on sofas watching TV, I went straight into the kitchen where DH was unloading the DW, started dinner. About an hour later I called everyone to the table (laid by me), no-one came, the food was sat there piping hot. I don't know about anyone else but this really gets my goat. MIL said "In a minute." She was only knitting !!!!!!!! FIL just sat there!!! DH was busy and excused himself, which was fine. Kids were in the garden so took them a bit longer than usual.

We all sat down and ate it was a chicken casserole, jacket pots and veg. It was simple but tasty. We also had cheese then dessert. DH and I cleared dishes in between time.

After dinner I took kids up for bed and DH and FIL cleared dishes, DH had made some pointed remarks I think. MIL retired to the sofa. As soon as I came down I had to run to Asda's as we were out of DW salt. Was home by 9.10 and went straight into the kitchen to do dishes, DH folded extra leaf of dining table and wiped up.

As soon as I had finished the dishes, they left!!!!!! Is it just me or is that rude!!! I hadn't sat down since getting back from work, no-one came to the kitchen to offer help (apart from DH who had been working too), no-one dried the dishes, no-one even joined me for a chat and a glass of wine whilst I was cooking!! I just feel like a scivvy, MIL rarely offers her help and certainly not for the clearing up in fact the last couple of nights she has said "Sorry to leave you with all the dishes!"

I know they are on hols but i was always taught you offer to help your host, you help to clear up and you certainly help with the dishes!! When I am at their house I do as much as I can.

Am I being unreasonable? And also, no-one said "Thank you" or "This is nice", I know I shouldn't expect a compliment but isn't it just good manners?

DH has bitten his tongue so far and I don't want this blowing up, this is how it always is and I have become used to it over the last 10 years but it stills makes me  .

Sorry to let off steam at you guys. Meanwhile, this am put away all the clean dishes from last night and had to wash the floors as DS spilt his cereal. Am making shepherds pie tonight, lets hope it's not such a maddening evening.

    Enjoy your day all.

Good morning everyone! P-P hope you have a more postive day today. :heartpuls

I need a new job. Have taken two weeks off work to look for one. I basically want to get out of retail and into office type work because 8 years is a long time. :o Signed up with a temping agency last week and they've just rung me to say there is a temp job at the local court available and they'll put my name forward. I don't know if that means anything, but at least they are making a good job pretending they are looking for work for me. Anyone want an admin assistant? ;)

I've started a new hobby. Digital scrapbooking! You can laugh at my first attempt here. The good news is its completely free because I already have the software on my computer and there are plenty of websites out there with free stuff.

Made my 2nd Weetabix cake last night. This time I replaced half the sugar with coconut, and I think it tastes much nicer. I'm not a big sugar fan. My family love the cake, and I think it lasts longer because they have to cut a slice off rather than grabbing one like they would with a muffin, so it's less of a temptation.

I have a wedding to go to on Saturday, so I need to sort out my outfit and make sure its clean. Then valet my car.

Breakfast - Weetabix cake and fruit
Lunch - Ham and salad sandwich
    Tea - Spag Bol

Hope everyone has a nice day xxx
