Afternoon all.
I have finally sat down after cleaning the house from top to bottom since 10am!! Don't you just love microfibre cloths and stardrops
Mind you I will not be able to do much next week as I am in hospital for a minor op on tuesday, but from today having to prep for it, as in eating certain things that I can't eat, therefore having some really bad stomach cramps.
DD has cleaned her room and is now watching dvd's, DH is upstairs watching a film, so I can surf in peace untill it is time for tea, which tonight is a "grill up" which is our version of a fry up, sausages, bacon, eggs beans (for DD and Dh) and toast.
Well better get on, kitchen floor should be dry enough for me to make a brew.0 -

Police didn't say anything like that to me. They don't even know if it was a car, van or some other vehicle invovled yet. They were just finishing at the scene when they called me to go there. Horrible situation whatever the circumstances.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'm off to enjoy the rain now:mad:Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Afternoon Guys!
Sorry I havent posted, but havent been too well.
OH has had to do everything for me the past 48hrs and just generally fed up! 32 in 2 weeks and feel more like 82. Doctor came out this morning and gave me a jab of morphine as I was in so much pain. Bizzare how it hits so hard all of a sudden
OH has done 4 washloads this morning and tidied up the few things that needed doing. He has also emptied the DW, cleaned loo and swept through. SIL came and did the cleaning yesterday and looks lovely-so hopefully it will work with her doing the cleaning for a while.
Letter from DLA came this morning and states that this could take up to 11 weeks for a decision:eek: Hopefully, it will be sorted before then.
DD is going to see Lion King tomorrow up town...so jealous as Ive always wanted to see this-but glad she is getting to see it. Her cousin is taking her and his fiance, so should be a fun day for her.
BargainRzl-Thanks for all the texts and keeping me saine! You truly are lovely. Guys....she offered to pop in for a cuppa after a long day at work yesterday....a true friend:D ...thanks hun!
Breakie: Tea & Toast
Lunch: Chicken, salad roll
Dinner: Fish, mash, peas and parsley sauce
Hugs to all. Im on the sofa with pillows, pj's and blanket for the weekend:o ...can someone put me out my misery please. I was doing so well:cool:

Hi PP
Glad you are feeling a little brighter today.
I am 33 in October and I sometimes feel so flippin old:o I can remember partying all night, not going out til at least 10pm and coming home at 6am:eek: Jeeezz I couldnt do that now for all the tea in china.
I hope you hear from DLA sooner than my OH did well he still aint heard a thing and that was from May:eek: Keeps chasing them but still in the system I suppose.
Your DD will love the Lionking I loved it the costumes are so good, I liked mary poppins too but I was ill when I went to see that with an inner ear infection which made me stumble like I was P***ed:p made me feel terrible really:o
Should keep you busy catching up with the threads.
Take care, rest up on the sofa and hope you feel better soon0 -
Moggins - If you find out where there's a pattern for Teletubbies could you let me know. Knitted Bertie, Percy and Thomas for DS last year and his little sis is now mad for Po. Would be a good Christmas Pressie.
Now why would I be thinking of Christmas - Snowy, could it be you? - You've inspired me. Going to sort through the various Christmas cake recipes we've got and decide on one. Will make it at start of October.:santa2:
Wandered into WH Smith and happened to wander out again with a Pukka Pad (and a Vanity Fair - but we all need to relax). Got one for work and one for home - pukka pads that is, not Vanity fairs.
Off to make a vat of chilli - most of family descending on me tomorrow so need to feed them. Then get out and buy them something to drink.
Can I be a member of the Lanarkshire crew - left when I was only 3 (a loooong time ago)
ps - we called the Gymmies when I was growing up in Fife. Must go and get some for DS before his 1st day at school next week (ahhhh!)"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
Hi Peem - Sure you can join the Lanarkshire Crew. Whereabouts did you grow up?
Gymmies makes more sense than gutties to me, with them being gym shoes and all. Which reminds me, still haven't got DD's new ones for school.
Considering I felt so bad when I got up this morning, I feel as though I have achieved lots today. Used my new bottle of stardrops and my microfibre cloths. I am now a convert!!! Can't believe how well they worked on the skirting boards in the bathroom. Most of the house is now clean and tidy - the staircase and kitchen will be tackled tomorrow. Right now, I feel the need to put the kettle on for some tea and maybe dig out that last scone in the cupboard that I can hear calling my name.
Penny Pincher, good to see you back with us. Take care.

Welcome back Penny Pincher, sorry you're still not so well - hope you feel better soon
Have had terrible pains in my stomach today, so took some of me strong pills and went to sleep for an hour - feel much better for it now
Dough is in the breadmake for HM pizza tonight (DD tells all her friends that my pizza is soooo much better than shop bought lol)
Looking forward to the X Factor later on tonight - will be mostly drinking HM pina coladas whilst watching
Well I'm just going to tackle the bathroom, then at least I can say "upstairs is clean".
Take careSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
afternoon everyone.
I'm having a bit of a break from the BH decorating mission, so i thought i would have a catch up. Sounds like there is some productive fly ladying going on.
We did ASDA at 9pm last night so we could just get on today. We have sanded all the woodwork, and a light sand of the new plaster. Dh then washed it all around, and is well under way with the first coat of paint. A white coat to cover the plaster.
I have been trying to clean the kitchen as everywhere got covered in dust, and i wanted to spring clean it anyway. So far, i've emptied the shelves off, washed all the contents, cleaned the microwave, washed the tiles on two walls and the boiler, and made us well earned bacon butties for lunch. I'm currently perched on the mini-step ladder using the lappy, but i think i may have to jump back to it. We've decided not to get anything back out until we are all done. No TV may make us work a bit quicker. :rotfl:
PP - sorry to hear you are not well hun. Take it easy and i hope the pain eases off soon.
sorry, can't remember much else as i have read the thread so quick, and i need to get back on so DH doesn't think i'm lazy. I feel bad enough i can't do much as it is.
Have a fun weekend. Make the most of it. Gosh - can't believe the next one is xmas, can't say i would have thought about it is snowy hadn't of said.
Love, Michelle, xx0 -

Have you got recipes for these please?;) Sounds perfect to me! What sort of tomatoes and cheese do you use for the pizza?
Hello everyone. Hugs to those who are poorly or have poorly relatives and horses!
Ive been shopping with sister-in-law today and she unfortunately needed to go to Wilkinsons and Sainsburys. Unfortunately because I can't go in those type of shops without spending!Spent £15 in Wilkos on, amongst other things, some baking tins I need, clingfilm, radox (on offer two for the price of one) and some oven cleaning stuff. Then spent another £15 in Sainsburys even though I didn't need anything! Made me feel better though that we ate a hot potato from a potato van rather than going into a cafe so it was cheaper and much nicer too!
Homemade beef stroganof for tea. Yum!0
