I was wondering what on earth the music was I could hear and realised it's the party in the park that's on today :D It's right behind my house so DD and I have just nipped over for an hour.

I spent £7 and came back with 5 Enid Blyton books, 3 Horrible Science books, 1 cook book, and an interesting little book called the Cottage Life Book. 1 Toy Story video (ours went missing) 1 CD rack for DS, 1 keyboard and mouse (needed for my computer upstairs) 1 pair of brand new jeans and 2 sweatshirts for me and 3 pairs of pyjamas for DD :D

I had a hotdog whilst DD played on the new playground and then DD got very sticky with a huge stick of candyfloss. Not a bad haul for £7 :D

    Good afternoon OSers!!

Afternoon moggins! I was just logging in specifically to thank you and yours was last post on the daily thread so I'm going to be lazy and thank you here!:rotfl: If you saw my second post on yesterday's thread you may remember I missed a parcel delivery, but said I wasn't bothered because my griddle turned up just afterwards. Well collected parcel from sorting office and it's my cookbook you recommended!!:D :D Just spent the last 2 hours reading it though!:o Still haven't washed this morning's dishes, (no dishwasher ), haven't tidied, vacuumed done anything really!!:o :o

Between this site, reading cookbooks and making welshcakes, my life is pretty much accounted for!!

Must get off and do something before I pop back, but thanks moggins, it really is as good as you said!!:T

    CMxx

PS didn't you do well!!! That's some haul you've got there!

    Hi All

I'm not meant to be at work today, but I got called to a hit and run so over time here we come!!!

Might have a go at some banana bread this afternoon. Also hoping to get in the garden to pick some plums and runner beans

Meant to have the rest of the Bank Holiday off, but in this job, you just never know when you'll get called

Hope everyone has a great time

Afternoon scuzz - the hit and run doesn't sound good!

I don't know how I missed out the tellytubbies, they are sat on the sofa behind me! I wish I could find out who knitted them to get some lessons as they are great, everyone exactly as it should be!

  • Hi All,
A big thanks to everyone who sent best wishes for my mum.
I have spent all morning blanching and freezing runner beans, I have enough to last for a whole year at least and loads more still coming. I had about 50 tomatoes (with tons more ripening up) and I have roasted them off with some home grown garlic and basil and frozen them, hopefully for pizza toppings, spag bol etc. I am trying to keep up to date with all the washing and ironing so that we can get away for a few days later in the week. We are off to Lewes in East Sussex, somewhere I have never been so hopefully we will manage to get out and about a bit.
Mum seems OK, she has had a few visitors this morning and Im popping to see her shortly, she is realizing that she is feeling very weak and it will be a while before she is able to do more. She will have to take things slowly for a while. Its difficult when you are independant though.
Moggins, That was a fantastic £7 well spent. The kenwood and the River Cottage bargains sound great too.
Penny Pincher if you are reading I hope you are feeling better soon, the threads not the same without you.
    Bye for now!

Poor bloke's in hospital with life threatening injuries. Had to go and interview the police at the scene of the crash. They called me to ask me to cover it so couldn't say no. All in a day's work
