You've got to laugh  ... I just went onto the Transport for London website to look up my route for tomorrow (to my cousin's drinks do, which is starting off in the beer garden at Alexandra Palace) and found that from home, it will supposedly take me 2hrs 12mins to get there! That's just getting from outer South East London to semi-outer North London! For goodness' sake, it would take me less time to get from King's Cross to York!

I've just got back from town and treated myself to a bar of green and blacks (butterscotch) I don't have it very often (the last time was about 6 months ago :rotfl: ) but I savour every mouthful. Also bought 2 tubs of haagen daz (sp?) ice cream 2 for £5 in Tescos.
Penny-Pincher - are you okay? Missing your posts hun
Bargain Rzl - your train times made me laugh - when we go and visit my dad it takes us about 40 minutes in the car, however as my dad doesn't drive if he comes over to us by bus it takes 2 1/2 hours each way  Public transport you gotta love it.
twink - hope you feel better soon
Anyway if I'm going to achieve everything I set out to do today I best hoover the lounge
Bye for now
Ooh just going to amend my signature as I found a £2 coin on the bus on the way home!!!!Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
By the way, dorry, I was wondering why PP hadn't been on today too. I've just texted her to ask if she's OK but no reply as yet

loubee--yours sounds good as well, i am jealous, i have just completed my 2 degree and thinking of going further through work, (nhs) how do u go about getting to that level??
Hi there! I basically answered an ad in new scientist advertising a PhD position and went for it! There are fair few people who work here (Medical Physics) who have worked in the NHS and have done part time Masters degree while working (the NHS funded them) and have then gone on to do research. The clinical scientist programs organises them all.

Transport for London website always seems to give me the most convoluted, weird routes possible0
-
Hmm, Loubee, funny you should say that. I took a closer look at the route and it's tried to give me a 36 minute transfer time at London Bridge :rotfl: - the actual travelling time plus realistic transfers is basically about an hour and a half! ... Mind you, my natural inclination would have been to go via Victoria and Finsbury Park rather than London Bridge and Wood Green - but the (lovely fast) Victoria Line has engineering works all day tomorrow
