The house is a tip - litterally falling apart (at least various cupboards etc are)

I've done next to nothing with the kids this hols
I just don't know where to get started - and more to the point, just want to curl up on the sofa with a HUGE bar of choccie :(
I'm really sorry but I've not read all the posts today - got to the end of page one and got overwhelmed.
EVeryone wants to come and go and do 'nothing in particular' at different times of the day, meaning I can't figure out which way is up IYKWIM.
Right - that does it. I NEED chocolate - going to bribe one of the boys to go and get me some.

63 posts as I start, goodness only knows how many by the time I finish, VERY slow typist!!

    Welcome all newbies.

(((Hugs))) Elona, wishing you the strength you'll need, but take some time for you, you will be the lynchpin for your family, so don't forget to take care of yourself.

catznine that's understandable with your daughter. The physical hurts will recover quicker than her confidence, but hopefully that will come back bit by bit. Couldn't you whip the b*ggers who do this to people, give them a taste of their own medicine!

Oh damn, have forgotten all I've read again, I must get on here earlier!!

Can do wave across the water at you Shez, you'll have to crook your neck to catch it!!!

Oh and meant to say Kazonline, fence is looking good!! What was there in the colour to object to?

Bye for now, going to tidy up a bit and still have some washingup left from last night, oh the shame of it!!!

Another irritating thing is that the expensive set of kitchen knives my friends have asked for is currently available in Debenhams at quite a substantial discount  (BTW I'd like that very same set of knives, but can't justify the expense at the moment even at Debenhams price!) ... I know they are my friends, and I wish them every joy with their marriage, but I resent paying over the odds to equip somebody's kitchen when I'm attempting to equip my own on a MUCH smaller income ... How does that work, anyway? ... You get a partner, move in together and get engaged (thus increasing your disposable income hugely - in my friends' case, she's a very high earner (senior accountant) and he probably earns a bit less than me but doubled his money on his previous house leaving them with a large deposit on their house) and then your single friends, who have bills to pay and houses to furnish on a single income, have to buy you all your stuff  ... There's a bit of a logic bypass somewhere in this wedding list system!

Kaz, ignore the house! I will be doing a big Flylady Challenge when the kids have gone back to school, save it till then

Finances - cannot be ignored, bite that bullet and get them done now!!

Kids - you are meeting me on Thursday, that's a brilliant day out for them, entertaining and educational and Auntie moggins can sort them out for you.

Let the kids amuse themselves, coming and going through the hols is allowed and the going is positively encouraged, as long as they are not under your feet shouting I'm bored you are doing okay :D

Chocolate - that's regarded as Mum's medicine during the summer hols isn't it?
