@butafli Have you started on the new medication? How are you feeling?

@shoegal Have you done your workout? :naughty:

Not very MSE but I tried to make an appointment for a haircut at Toni + Guy (for mental health reasons-my hair is making me miserable, too many "cheapest-cuts-I-could-find" have left my hair very shapeless) but my local salon has closed with immediate effect:eek: I have found somewhere else owned by ex Toni + Guy people so hopefully that'll make me look and feel better for 2011.

Here's what I've been distracting myself with today :)

The haircut isn't really what I want to be spending my money on but my hair is long and needs to be layered properly and shaped around my face instead of just hanging there making me look bad so I'm going to pay the extra for that and hopefully a cheap trim will do next time.

Why haven't you done the workout today? Although you don't have to it every day, maybe 4 times a week.

The €60 haircut turned out to be worth more than €60:eek: I was there for 2 hours and 20 minutes:eek: which is an insane amount of time for a haircut. Most salons allocate 45 mins per appointment, this place gives you 2 hours. The other 20 minutes was for a colour consultation.

It's really difficult to explain how a haircut could take so long, there was a relaxing head massage with the shampoo, then the cut, then the blowdry followed by another 30 minutes of dry cutting which seemed to involve almost cutting each hair individually:rotfl:I was rather fascinated by it which surprises me as I've spent many hours in hair salons over the years.

The hairdressers were very professional too but they didn't really talk at all, either to each other or the customers (except to discuss hair). There was no chit chat about holidays or nights out which gave a slightly unfriendly first impression but 2 hours later it was obvious that they were too busy concentrating on their work. There was a lady getting hi-lites done, I can't imagine how many hours she was going to be there for!

I look much better, still have long hair even after all that cutting and really feel that I got value for the money I paid.

Then I ordered some freebies form Amazon (free because I paid using vouchers from surveys:T:money:)

Books (x2): "The Happiness Project" and "Defending the Guilty" (a law book)
CD's (x3): Both the new and old cd's from the Script and the soundtrack cd from Les Miserables:)

It feels too indulgent ordering all those things on the same day as an expensive haircut but I didn't pay for them (unless you count the time spent filling in surveys in which case I did pay for them with my time:D) It's a good incentive to keep going with the surveys which can be tedious sometimes, although I've had a very long break from them over Christmas when there were no survey invites.

Found another thread I like @shoegal would like this too I think

    Now bedtime:)

Wish I could send you to the fab hair salon but it's a bit too far away from you:D Find a small independent but expensive place rather than a big hairdressing chain. A sort of high fashion place rather than the local granny salon.

I wouldn't recommend it to somebody who's happy with their hair though. Way too expensive for a trim but worth it for a re-style.

    Thanks mags :A

Have been surviving on £6 'walk in' trims for 2 years :( but now I really feel I need a proper cut :o Just read on another thread about somebody who treated themselves once they'd lost a stone - maybe I should set that goal? :D
