maybe they were more into the idea of being on a tele programme, than they were about changing their behaviour. You have to want to change before you can be equipped with strategies to change

I don't know, I just found it very interesting. They did stay off drink for 6 months but still chose to go back to the old lifestyle after. I suppose pubs/drinking is a very attractive lifestyle for young lads just like shopping tends to be a very attractive activity for a lot of females.
I don't shop much anymore, mainly because I can't afford it but like them and the drink I think I'll always be drawn to retail and consumerism.Just popping on to say that I am still reading and you're not alone in feeling isolated at this time of year. I do too even though I live with my 6 year old! I find the snow dreadfully depressing. I don't think it helps that we are expected to feel happy at this time of year but sometimes it's xmas that can make us feel more miserable. Although I enjoy xmas I far prefer New Year - New Year = New Start.
Take care hun
Sorry to hear you are feeling down too, it must be really difficult keeping up the happy Christmas facade for an excitable 6 yr old. Hope you have all her presents sorted and that WLM gets you something fabIt's not just us though, just look at the news and all the cancelled flights, it's affecting everyone and it will pass in a while.
I made it to work (rather late) and then I was so busy I missed lunch and now I'm hungry. I keep getting distracted by surveys too, they appear in my inbox and I tend to do them, but only the short ones and onepoll and then I get fustrated when I get screened out. I'm definitely keeping up the surveys in 2011, the vouchers from them are really handy.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
New Years Resolution No1: I will never moan about the rain again. It might be unpleasant but it'll never be as inconvenient as snow.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000

Morning
Managed to find some time (and get the laptop back out of DDs room) to pop on and see how you are doing. Sorry to hear you've been a little stir crazy with the weather. I understand that so much as yes it is the RA that means I can't just pop out and have to arrange people to come and get me.
Nice to catch up on the programme about the drinkers - shame it wasn't a "happy" ending but maybe it was at least true to life. Been watching "snog, marry, avoid" on sky (yes i admit to having sky but i have got it half price) and they take some non-natural beauties and naturalise them - they go back three months later to see what happened. Some of them went straight back but others mixed and matched. Perhaps that is what real life is about - taking the bits that are easy and likeable and keeping the other stuff that is so you. Tweaking rather than changing. If you alter your course by 1mm now then in 3 miles you are in a completely different place IYSWIM. Laugh okay I think I should give up waffling now :rotfl:
:smileyhea to all.

I :heart2: this, what great advice, must remember it for my 2011 diary. You should do a diary for 2011 too:)
I don't like "true to life"I like happy endings:rotfl:
I have to get out for lunch today because I have another mystery shopping job, it's a phone shop so I don't have to buy anything. Strangely the mystery shopping jobs I've done this month I haven't even applied for, the allocaters have called me to offer me the jobs. I really need to work harder at this in 2011, I need the money and now that I'm established with a few companies it's getting easier.
Too busy today to worry about getting home for Christmas, there are lots of cars out, I guesse I'll just have to get out there with them, go slow and hope for the best.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -

Busy but non-eventful day, starting to wind down for Christmas now. Had a lovely lunch at an Italian restaurant, lasagne with a complimentary glass of white wine.
Today was the winter solstice, shortest day of the year, so the days will be getting longer again:j
My mother rang me in a huge panic about the snow earlier, she's not coping well with being snowed in.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
There was ice on the inside of the windows this morning:eek: and I'm feeling colder today than any day yet. Accuweather says it's -6 but feels -12.
3 days to :xmassmile and I'm still doing surveys. Have £37.50 on onepoll now so will hopefully get my £40 in January, then I can start again for 2011.
I'm responsible for doing the Christmas food shopping. I need to do some of it today so that tomorrow doesn't get too stressful for me. Still worrying about driving home. I'm planning on doing that tomorrow.
After that I probably won't be on here much until January, no broadband at my mothers house, she's not an internet user! I'll have the iphone with me though so I'll be checking in a lot but it's not the best for writing long replies.
Money situation is no better or worse than usual, after all the bills go out the balance will probably be pretty close to 0.00 but at least everything will be paid up to date. My mother will pay me back for the food shop (she has no money issues compared with me) and that will be my spending money until I get paid again.
There will be a few NSD's (No spend days) around Christmas when I'll just be staying in, eating, chatting, watching tv, reading and making cups of tea every 2 hours:rudolf: Probably getting a bit bored too, I'm not a huge fan of Christmas.
All dependant of course on managing to get there on the rather dangerous roads. But other cars are out so I will be too.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
I'm going to have to pack really carefully too which will create extra work. I tend to live out of the car, everything just trown into the boot, spare clothes hanging in the back, etc but there's a chance I might have to be rescued by a neighbour with a 4x4 because of the snow. I really hope not because I'll have loads of stuff with me, the turkey, presents, wine, clothes, books.... and it would just be
having to transfer all that from one vehicle to another. So it needs to be contained neatly in boxes and bags just in case.

And just before I log off for the day here's another book for the 2011 reading list:T "The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant as recommended by RubySewSew in her diary. I'd never heard of it before so I had to Google it but it's a New York Times bestseller and seems like a lovely read.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000
