I was really surprised not to get any reply (this was back in the summer) but then I realised, the messages don't go to the person's email box, they go to the inbox that's on the website, and if they've passed the initial splurge of interest, they probably don't go on there any more. I keep checking, and hoping
Good luck with yours!

It's been a busy year greent! I don't think many of us hit our goals, I certainly did not.5

One of the best things I achieved in Dec was giving blood - after just over a year off due to anaemia. I'm O neg and feel very strongly about donating blood - I've recruited DD (also O neg), DH and DS1 (both O pos) to the cause too. I had a transfusion as a newborn and that and being O neg make me feel a responsibility to "do my bit'. I'm always disappointed when I can't manage to donate due to my iron levels (I naturally run low and I eat very little red meat and don't absorb much from non haem sources - I have been told to donate less often - they would rather have me donate every 9-12 months than have to strike me off! Which is good in one way.... I did it in the last day of term (school was closed to students as we were setting up the covid testing ready for day 1 back in Jan) - I nipped in first thing, then went to work for a few hours and then in the afternoon a funeral in Wales - and then to see the lights at a local attraction in the evening. I was shattered after - and had birthday brunch with an Aunt the next morning for her 70th and was meant to have my covid booster in the afternoon - however I came over a hit funny and went to sleep.fpr the afternoon, having forgotten about the booster (I remembered a couple of days later!!) - I think the long term/ busy day before/ blood donation all 'conspired' to wipe me out - some much needed r&r was had and I shall go for my booster today/ tomorrow with DS1 at a walk in - depends on if supplies hold out if we make it today - I'm not waking him up super early for it, ad he's also shattered.
Lovely afternoon at my cousin's house yesterday for afternoon tea - not that we really needed any food and treats (I didn't eat much) - but it was lovely to get out and see some different people! Very chilled few hours and we came home with leftover cake! - which we certainly didn't need!
DD is back at work today - although is wfh. She is on 7-3pm shift, so is already working away in her bedroom (in her PJs) - she said that it will probably be a really busy day as it is the first proper day back and there will be all the xmas period domestic violence/ suicide/ self harm etc stuff to catch up on. There has been 2 peopple doing the very worst / most urgent things the last couple of days but there will be a massive backlog and far more 'high risk' incidents than there normally are due to the Xmas break. She is very matter of fact about things and thankfully not unaware of the horrors that exist in society and is quite level headed about stuff (both DH and myself had upbringing that today would be safeguarding referrals with several agencies involved so she knows that life is not necessarily how it appears to the outside world at first or even second glance)
Today's plans (other than dragging DS1 for his booster) involve some fridge and freezer tidying and also reorganising the chest of drawers in our bathroom - it's where spare toiletries live, along with t'our' towels and things like holiday stuff (travel iron, plug in muzzle zappers etc) and needs outings after my xmas stash of goodies that I received - I have enoughNo 7 to last at least 3 years.....

Love that you made donating blood such a priority - my dad did it, so I did it too. I had to stop for a few years when my life was in uproar, changing cities, becoming self employed and sort of homeless, and then when I found the new local centre they turned me away, exactly the same reason as yours - iron not quite good enough.
Your DD sounds amazing!2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
