Ahhhh - I feel alive again! I had a really busy week and weekend (2 nights out and a day spent ferrying DS1 to his new student house for his Masters) and then came down with a really evil cold 🤧 that floored me for the whole of last week - I'd get in from work and fall asleep on the sofa and then go to bed properly by 9pm. I also left work early most days (I'm in an office all by myself so wasn't particularly infecting anyone when in) Def a cold as half of Y7 seem to have got it (pesky pupils!) But today my head does not feel full of snot and cotton wool - I'm still tired, if I'm honest - but my brain is working and it feels soooo good! I had a good day getting various things done/ started (planning for Dec mocks already!!!) and it felt like things were clicking into place 🙌
I have, however, infected 🤧 all 4 members of my family still at home...... they are not impressed.with me!!
Totally skint in the current accounts - have transferred rather a lot from savings to see us through... thankfully payday is tomorrow (me) and Thurs (DH) and we should be back straight again - although DH have around £700 in expenses still to claim....grrrr... Oct shouldn't be too bad for spends - DH's bday and also planning a night away in DS's uni city during half term so ds1 and ds3 can see him. Oh and a trip to ikea which may involve a mattress purchase - and no doubt some smaller items! Hopefully some.Xmas prep/ purchases, too - will.need to be more organised than usual now! 😄
Currently sat outside a local High school where Ds3 is in a swimming lesson (parents not allowed in due to covid) so am trying to do some catching up.on here. School bells keep ringing, weirdly - not in a continual fire alarm way, just like a normal lesson change - but every minute or so! 🤷♀️
After tipping it down 🌧☔from around 5.30 - 7.30am this morning, the weather changed 🌝and it has been lovely

Sorry to hear you have the evil cold, a friend of mine had it and it was with him for agggges.
The bell sounds annoying. I think I would have to go around the corner or something and come back.5 -
DH always got sick in the first month of a School year - the Y7 blend of new germs from different primary schools results in those evil viruses. I could usually bank on me catching it in October and it taking until December to clear properly (cold -> chest = pleurisy here) - but no more. So you have done well to get through the worst of it so quickly.

It's true - and maybe they don't howl like a werewolf (naooow!) but they were more emotional and excitable. As @apple_muncher says.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Feeling alive all last week was great - especially as the other 4 people living in thus house were full of the cold instead! DH was really poorly and took the whole week off work and had lots of lat flow tests and a pcr just to make sure as he totally lost his sense of smell and taste- all negative. I felt sniffy again this morning so was a bit peeved but thought maybe it was just the tail end rearing it's head back up, did a lat flow to check and was fine. Went to work amd felt groggy after lunch - came home at 3.30 shivering and with a sore throat - was dressed in thick trousers, a long sleeve top, cardigan, socks, slippers, 2 fleece blankets, a wheat bag, the central heating on and the fire on full. Finally warmed up but spent most of the night sucking str3psils or asleep. Just took a different lat flow and got a positive line straight away😷 - so have booked in for a pcr at 8am tomorrow morning. Sigh.... busy couple of weeks at work with CAT tests and A levels so I hope it's false positive. 🤞🤞 Good job I had a quiet weekend - I didn't even go to the shop- DH did.
