Hope you get a chilled out day, somehow!

Hmmm - my ta da list wasn't so impressive yesterday, rt - I had that more chilled day
I did some much needed cleaning in the kitchen, some ironing and then scattering of ashes with tea and cake after - that took about 2 hours. Nice to see family
Then I collected ds3 from the party (bowling) and stayed talking to the mum.for almost an hour. I did get my book finished later though
Today has been a good day - Ds1 has finally had his Masters place confirmed (Nanomedicine) and DD has had her job changed from a FTC ending in July 2022 to a permanent role
Took ds2 and ds3 to.opticians - ds3 OK but ds2 needs new prescription and apparently has 'very interesting' eyes! 🤔 the cost of his new specs are totally covered by the voucher, so that's goodalso booked an appointment for ds1 for before he goes back to uni.
Ds2's room is almost finished being tidied/ sorted/ cleaned - less than another 30 mins will see it fully finished! Then it's back to DS3's room.....
Nothing listed on fb00k or flebay over the weekend, but I did get some items listed on fb00k this afternoon. May aim to get a few on flebay tonight before Only Connect
Dinner tonight is spiced lamb meatballs with salad and hm flatbreads and smashed gunpowder potatoes (bargain ys new pots steamed, crushed, sprinkled with spices and oil and then baked until crunchy) 😋 looking forward to that 😋I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £208 -

Today I have finally finished sorting/ tidying/ cleaning DS2's room (all with his assistance) - much has left over the time we've done it (ok - some has gone to DS3's room) and it is looking much better. I also have a plan to make his room (in particular his desk) work better - but I need to try it out using newspaper stuck together for sizing first! He has also acquired DD's old desk chair in there - not sure the bright purple matches the rest of the room, but who am I to argue!
After that success DS3 and I did some time in his room - we finished sorting through his books (a pile of too-young ones are now on the landing), got rid of a couple of old school-made models and sorted through the games in there. Next stage is his wardrobe..... (might not be tomorrow!) Then all 3 of us went on a very warm and sunny walk along the canal, where we fed the swans and ducks- and then I attempted to order the last bits of school uniform stuff when we got back (still no real success - am hoping the stuff arriving at N3xt tomorrow may be ok) Also used an Amz00n voucher from one of the boys to buy some stuff and bought them the equivalent amount of PBs instead. Ooh - and increased DH's holding by the princely amount of £50
- paid for by the sort of Tilly tidies our bank account does (save the change) - so feels like we've bought them with free money
Ooh - and to go with the courgette glut we now have new potatoes, carrots and tomatoes coming nicely on stream....I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £208 -
Are you keeping pace with your courgette glut? I have filled my catering upright freezer with produce already and they are coming thick and fast - 3-4 a day. I'm off to make courgette and lime cake shortly. I have been chopping them and freezing in bags (the size I know makes a batch of soup with onions, carrots and a bit of sweet potato added).Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

My new diary is here6 -
Hi S-l - am now keeping up with courgette glut by picking them when small! - it's working well
Tomatoes aren't excessive this year (had so many last year) - in fact I'm still having to buy some - but we do eat a lot of them as sides to things and I will happily eat them as a snack (gotta be better than biscuits....) Carrots are still small in the main - but that's my fault because I don't thin them out. All potatoes are now harvested - they were quite good this year
That just leaves a few apples and plums to come and some pears - mouth is now watering at the thought of Autumn crumbles!
😋😋
DS3's room was finished being sorted last week - although the family room now has piles of stuff to get rid of one way or another from his room/ DS2's room/ general stuff decluttered. Listed some bits on t'bay yesterday - will try and get a few more on there today. Took a full bag of items into CS yesterday with me when DS2 and I went and volunteered for 3 hours (have decided Sundays are quite nice for volunteering)
Am loving having a cleaner - only been 2 weeks so far, but it's making a difference - means things are being kept tidierThe window cleaner also came on the same day last week, so around half of my downstairs inside windows are now sparkling both inside and out, as she finished off her time by doing some of them
Will see how it goes once I'm at work.........
My car is in for service and MOT today.... hoping there won't be anything too crazy that is found! My CC bill is huge this month - for me, anyway - it's normally nil or <£50 but is over £400 - lots of school related bits (even though I also put some through current ac), the annual M*cr0s0ft office charge, back to uni clothes for DS1.... Sigh!
On the subject of DS1, he has his student finance agreed and accom sorted - I just need to get someone (nice neighbour) to witness my guarantor forms for the rent today, send them back and then that's it. DH is taking him and lots of stuff down next week to collect the key/ drop the stuff off and then they are coming back and DS1 is actually moving in properly Sat 18th Sept - I'll go along on that trip - we'll still be taking lots of stuff with us then - clothes, more foodstuff, PC, PS4, laptop.... First trip will be bedding, crockery, clothes airers, stationery and spare toiletries and a proper desk chair (the ones in the student houses he stays in are all rubbish, quite frankly!)

Wow Greent - you've been busy! - I need a lie down just reading through it
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!5 -
Gosh - thanks, both! I've actually been taking it easy as I have shoulder impingement (I think - GP has told me to see a physio.. so I need to either refer myself to the local NHS one (expected wait for phone call min 6-8 weeks) or book into a private one. Also my cubital tunnel syndrome in my wrist (same arm!) is playing up - so will need to splint it for several days. Finally my hips and lower back are sore so it's painful to walk or sit still for too long! I'm a bit of a crock right now!
Aside from that I have had another small flebay sale tonightAlso listed a couple of other small things on there, so will see if they go
Tomorrow DD is off to her uni city to meet up with uni friends for the day/ eveningI shall drop her off at the train station and then nip into town with DS1 to exchange a pair of the jeans we bought last week. Hopefully DH will collect her from the station tomorrow night!
I may drag him into a couple of other shops on the way home too (have a n3xt return and could do with a few things from Sainz)
MOT was clear- still cost £218 with the service (included things like £50 on new oil etc) Pleased with that. I do have an advisory for new brakes in around 3000 miles - which would normally be in around 12 months! - but likely to be sooner with the new job...... Still good going, though
