I'm not massively fussed on courgettes- but I like growing them! 😄 I really like growing runner beans, too - but don't actually like them to eat (I used to make chutney with them)I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -
Oooh runner beans are yummy. Never had them in chutney though!
Any more sales success?7 -
Pretty sure it was a Delia recipe I used for the chutney. I don't like runner beans as they're very squeaky on my teeth when eating them - plus they taste a bit too green!
The chutney is good, though - I had some at a friend's house that she made and I was an instant fan
Sold a few of DS2's rejects from his bedroom on fb00k over the weekend - money to him, as they were toys. Also sold another box of books to Z1ffit last week. Have another box building up for them - should be ready to post later in the hols (there are some books I want to read first that they will take!) I have a bag of items to take to CS today - mainly from DS2's room. Also have a bid on 1 item on flebay - it ends on Friday whilst we are away for the weekend, so I shan't be able to post it until Mon, but that should still be ok (it's very much a school related item) All sales are small fry, but I am happy the items are going. The CS sadly recycles/ scraps so much stuff - and misses out on pricing G-Aid items correctly - grrrr.

newgirly said:Hi greent, sorry for the stupid question but how do you best freeze courgettes? I’m not sure it will be something I need to know this year as mine have stayed at the cocktail sausage size for a while now, but I’m not giving up hope 😬

Back from a few days away in London - bargain P-Inn hotel rooms @ £88 for 3 nights. Manager checked us in and also only charged us for 3 adults for breakfasts, instead of 5 - we said we had 5 adults and 2 kids but he said the young adults looked young so he'd do us a deal!
- I wasn't going to complain!! Spent a fair bit on food whilst there (inevitable) although it could have been a lot worse, tbh. Only entry fees were for London Eye (a request from DS3) - we could have paid by Tesc0 CC vouchers but DH got a bit finger happy with the website, so we paid the full cost instead - grr. We did donate in museums and visit their cafes and bought a couple of guide books and a couple of items in the NH museum shop, so I don't feel bad about that
DD and her bf mainly did their own thing, so spent on Kew and the Tower of London (one of DD's favourite places) We ended up coming home yesterday morning instead of afternoon - DS1 has a cold and was suffering and everyone was shattered, so we decided to skip the planned final attraction (a freebie anyway) and pottered back home. Was a good idea, really - meant everyone could chill yesterday afternoon/ evening - and DD's bf was able to chill before catching a train back to Wales. Was hard getting up this morning - but I suspect it would have been much worse if we'd got back early evening. Being back earlier than planned meant I got in a quick trip to Tesc0 for some essentials and got 2 loads of laundry washed and dried - and about 80% of it ironed, too
ANother 2 loads today will see us back up straight - 1 is on the line and another is finishing in the machine. A loaf of seeded wholemeal is on its final proof and I have made a tray of fridge cake for sweet treats for DD and DS1. I took DD to work this morning, meaning a slightly later start for her - she has to leave the house before 7am when she's in the office, and me taking her meant we left about 30 mins later. I also dropped off a flebay parcel to courier point on the return journey home
Lots to do here over the hols - this week's admin tasks are booking MOT/ service for my car, an appt for eyebrow wax and tint before work starts, an appt for school show shopping (argh!) and an appt for uniform shopping for DS3 (next size up logo-ed items) Hopefully the M&S 'normal' items (black trousers, white shirts) that I've ordered will arrive this week - and will fit DS2 and DS3I also want to finish sorting/ tidying DS2's room with him and make a start on DS3's room. And at least 1 volunteering slot at CS And I'm still trying to find a podiatrist who is taking new clients - I have a ram's horn big toe nail (result of half my nail falling off after a fungal infection) that is painful in proper shoes, so it needs sorting (GP not interested - and still not seeing face to face appointments) Let's see how much of that I can achieve!
