That's a proper spread! There's no higher praise, by the way, as in, "she laid on a lovely spread". Brilliant
Also a brilliant teapot, that's really fantastic

@Karmacat - the teapot is Denby Monsoon 'cosmic' range - I fell in love with it for the cake stand years ago, but only finally treated myself to it last year. We also have a 16 piece dinner service in it (mugs, bowls, medium plates, dinner plates) as it was cheaper than buying just the mugs and plates! Our everyday stuff is Denby Greenwich- we have stacks of that (at least 8 of all normal items, but maybe 16 dinner plates....) inc lots of oven to tableware/ serving dishes etc. I've actually sold quite a bit, too - I wanted it all but found some was never used, so sold it (and usually got my money back, as I bought it with discounts and promotions in the main) I like Denby for bring sturdy enough for every day use - I think we've probably only broken maybe 6 things in 25 years and the children used it from quite small because of its sturdiness, too😃
Typically the daffodils looked amazing yesterday morning when I got up - they'd all opened overnight. They are cheerfully sitting on the kitchen windowsill now - will be moved to the kitchen table when I've finished clearing up in the kitchen
DD is making curry for dinner tonight - whoop! I shall supervise - she has seen me make them a lot, but not done it herself. It's pretty much our standard Saturday night meal now - saves us a fortune in disappointing takeaways, though 🙌😁😋 No idea what she has decided on yet (other than it's chicken based!)
We still have leftovers- I think the Victoria sponge will be finished today and the leftover scones and (un)iced buns are in the freezer. Shortbread and brownies are still around and are fine for the next few days- as are the Tesc0 mini muffinsHowever, next week I am back on eating way more veg than this week - I have treated this week as a holiday and not thought about weightloss at all - and I think my joints are complaining at the sugar overload!! 😱 Has done us good to recharge, though, I think
Happy weekend 🙂🙂 xxI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -

I love those mugs, are they thin china type rims or do they have thick rim tops ?As you might guess I am very particular about the thickness of rims on my mugs 😄6

I did debate about making one from our usual Denby (there isn't an 'official' one to match) and then I could have had a 3 tier one - however, when the Cosmic range came out it was one of those things that I fell in love with - and took several years to purchase, so it wasn't a hasty decision!
I also bought it at a very reduced price (Debnums reduced lots of things by almost 50% during lockdown1) and then had a voucher Debnums had sent me for using their CC, so I think it only cost me < £10 It very much 'brings me joy', in the Marie Kond0 sense, and fits the 'have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful' William Morris quote
There's someone on the local fb00k pages that makes them from pretty mismatched china (I'm guessing from CS finds) - they are lovely - but I am terrible for having things super-matching! I love mismatched things in other places, but not here, strangely!
Possible trip to local farm today for some of their HM gelato as an end of half term thing(plus they have b1sc0ff flavour today - a rare happening!)
Not much else planned other than that
Have listed a bunch of kids clothes for free on fb00k pages, so hopefully some of that will go. Also have 2 bigger things (price and weight) to list for sale on flebay/ fb00k today (I have a listing offer on fb00k, so save listings for those weekends
) - there is always something in this house which can go!
