HI GreenT great overpayment this month, know that feeling of searching for an extra £50 to reach a target. Hope the OH gets a job soon.
  • Great overpayment in spite of all the other stuff. Well done. A lot better than i can manage at the minute.

I noticed you said about being anaemic. A friend of mine was vegetarian and told me you absorb iron better with a glass of orange juice to wash it down, and you should not have it with a cup of tea as that makes you absorb less than normal.

Hope DH starts feeling more positive soon. Hard, but each day has to be took at a time, and try to see a small bit of goodness in it, or try to achieve one thing.
  • Hey greent
sorry things have been so tough for you and DH hope that things start to look up soon -is he getting any treatment/help?
    well done on the OPs!
agree with michelle -orange juice will help with the iron tablets!

    Hello again all :)

Yes - I have been OJing with the tabs, and with any iron rich foods to help absorption - think my levels are on the low side of normal at the mo (re test not yet due)- but need to get them higher, as they will drop again without the tabs and emphasis on iron foods (I have eaten so much spinach!)

Anyway, thanks for all the lovely words above. DH still has no work and is rather depondent - certainly back in depressive mode again :( It's hard to manage his mood swings with 4 kids and me being tired myself :(

On a more positive note, Feb's OP to date is £521.84 - our 'regular' OP of £421.84 and an extra £100 made up from cashback, 2 Walkers cheques not previously banked and £10 ebay money. Another month off now - current end date = 07/2017 - need to shave another 12 months off.... Have an NCT sale this month, which should give me some more funds, and a small expenses claim of about £30 that I'd forgotten about to do, so shall put that on there too. That should be about another £100, hopefully!

I hope int rates stay low for as long as possible!! The fix on our small (22k) part ends in April, so we go to SVR from May.. I don't want to get another fix, as I want shot of it all in 5 years (ish). I may look at a fee-free tracker/ capped product. Our mtge is about £88700 and our house is worth about £325k, so our LTV is good :D

  • Well done on the OP's greent xx I hope OH gets sorted soon - no wonder he's despondant xxx I hope you find some time to look after yourself as well xxxx

Good luck with the sale and other bits and bobs... I'm toying with the idea of re mortagaging but the idea scares me to bits even though I can get a better rate than I'm on

Another £75 paid off - claimed some expenses from a couple of groups I belong to - as I had already paid the CC bill I used the money as an OP instead :D

    Hi newgirly

DH still hasn't got a job and is 'officially' depressed. He is still seeing a counsellor - good @ £45/ week (eek) Just need to watch for return of any suicidal tendencies... :(

I appear to be coming down with a cold :( Bleurgh!!

I listed about 6 things on ebay last night in the FLW and have another 8-10 to list today at 99p start. Hopefully some will sell and can go for OPs. It's also the NCT nearly new sale this weekend, so 80 items need to be priced up and labelled for there - I usually sell about half of what I take. If I make £40 after costs I'll be happy - junk out and money for OPs (the kids get any money from sale of their toys, I get the money from clothes and equipment, such as highchair etc)

Am feeling frustrated - I want to make some real progress and don';t feel that I am or that I can do anything about it until we have money coming in.. :(:(:(:(

Ah well.... things could be much, mcuh worse :)

    xx

Oh, greent, you poor thing. I don't know how you are coping, you must be made of tough stuff.I hope your Dh gets better soon, it must be so hard with the kids as well, i hope you have some support near by.
We are always here if you want to come on and have a moan, we all do it! I think you are brilliant for even thinking about op at the moment, good for you and it doesn't matter how much you are paying, its staying on the journey that counts. take carex
