aw - thanks! Hadn't got around to posting on here - have been a bit manic with other stuff. But, yes - good news! OH has a new contract - started this week. Hopefully about 3 months in length. Generally based in Swindon (eek - about 100 miles/ day round trip!!) but occasional trips elsewhere (Birmingham today - and mileage is paid!) :D) Means he is a happier bunny, which means everyine in the house is a happier bunny!!

Beautiful weather here. Haven't got planting yet - must do so, but have had lots of other stuff on (inc a free day at Chelt races last week - just cost me the petrol) most not as fun as that though!

No more OPs made. Will attack again next month

Well, the day after the above post I had a call to say that my dad was dead. It's believed he died on the 29th, but his body wasn't discovered until the 31st. Anyway, to cut a long story short he was finally identified yesterday (they wouldn't let family do it, it had to be from official records, hence the delay) and the funeral date has been set for 6th May. Full cause of death is unknown - an inquest into it is being opened. NOthing is ever simple! Aside from that, though, it has meant that I've been in lots of contact with my half sister, 6 years younger than me - which is great! :D:D No money to come though - he had none!

On the mtge front, we have OP'd the usual £421.84 with our DD. I have another £30 to OP from a refund for a now defunct magazine subscription and also £75 from my mortgage savings tin. I WILL get these 2 done this week - but have been busy recently clearing my dad's flat of 'stuff' - he was a major hoarder and the flat was overflowing.

Our fix on sub ac 2 ended this month, so all our mtge will now be on SVR, meaning that our 'standard' OP from next month will be £493.57 from our DD. I also have a mass of summer stuff to ebay, so need to get off my backside and do that - it will be clearing the house of clutter and making funds for OPs - yeay! :D I still have another year to shave off our end date to bring it in line with my target, so need to up the ante. I have done NO surveys at all this year :(

On a money spending front we are having the main bathroom, DDs ensuite and the cloakroom all replaced. The main bathroom is minging and the toilet unusable. DDs ensuite has no shower and the sink and loo are grim. The cloak is just about passable, but the labour costs of haviong it done at the same time as the other 2 are very minimal as it's an easy, small job. We hvae also booked to go to Disneyland Paris in Oct half term :D:D
