Woo hoo! Fix has ended on large part, so have redirected some of the OP this month to sub ac 02 - will redirect all OPs there from next month to repay debt with largest int rate first (and because it's a smaller part it really gets repaid quickly - jan 2014 so far) EED of Mtge is 04/2018 as at today - still need to shave 21 months off to get to my ultimate target :) Balance today according to my s/sht = £94904.29. Balance at 31st Dec was £104969.37, so I'm quite pleased with that. HAve just spent some time rejigging spreadsheets to take account of lower int rate on sub ac 01 and redirected OPs to sub ac 02. Very slightly beneficial to do it that way - but any benefit is a good thing :D

Whilst mtge is coming down I am struggling somewhat. DH being away and everything else means I am so tired. Surviving on around 4 1/2 hours sleep/ night - most nights. Have been so busy with part time school attendance for DS2 (now full), looking at secondary schools with DS1 and DD having several orthodontist appointments and our tenant having water issues (electricna and plumber needed) and doing Treasurer paperwork for NCT, paperwork for DH, general paperwork, ironing, washing etc. I go to bed most nights around 1 but don't get to sleep for 30-60 mins, usually) trying to get it all done. DS3 then wakes 3x night, DS2 a couplew of times/ week. My alarm goes off at 6... and DS2 is being physically bullied at school (had a footprint on his face yesterday) - he's in reception and they only started full time this week!!! I've been dealing with that, helping DS1 prepare for his grammar school entrance test. I am close to breaking at the mo. Today I've been up since 6 and made 3x packed lunches, cleaned kitchen sidea and table, made 1 child be Harry and bucketful fo dinosaurs, another Bart Simpson (dress up day at school)n (with yellow face), sorted washing, put washing up away, cleaned cooker top, gone to school twice (forgot bucket of dinos!!) seen deputy head re bullying, made syrup sponge for tonight's pudding, tidied kitchen, labelled 25 things for nct sale, put ironing away and dealt withs ome ebay queries, I need to pick DD up from school in an hour for another (emergency) orthodontist appt and then go to another school for DS1 & 2's sponsored event (probably in the rain) I also need to get to a supermarket (no bread, little milk) tidy and clean and vacuum.

Sorry for the moan. Feeling sorry for myself - probably from lack of sleep (and chocolate!) but am finding it very hard right now. And \dh says he thinks he may have more work (ggod) up north(not good) for several months more...... I find autumn/ winter hard anyway, but just want to hibernate..

  • OMG Greent, I feel exhausted just reaching your list - no wonder you're cream-crackered! However... you can only do your best and there are only 24 hours in the day. Yes, everyone else has needs, but you also need to remember your own. Please be mindful of them, because if you get too knackered and get ill, or simply can't carry on under the pressure then other people's may not get met at all! Are any of the things you do non-essentials? Home made puddings for example... gorgeous, but when I was little, they were a treat we got when Mum had the time to make them! Take care of yourself. So sorry its so tough at the moment greent. There are some things which you can cut down on (like dusting and cleaning for a while) but when its mostly stuff for the children you just can't cut back on most of it can you. I have 3 kids and a DH who is currently doing around a 15 hour day, 7 days a week, and it can get exhausting sometimes.
One of my boys was bullied, only for a short while, but to be honest it really felt devastating, the worry used to keep me awake at night. I think you can cope being busy if all your children are happy.
I hope it went well when you spoke to the deputy head and gets sorted out, try and have a relaxing weekend of you can, newgirly.

Hi GreenT, sorry to read that you are so over-worked and tired. It must be very hard when your o/h is working away too. I don't have any advice but didn't want to read and not respond. I hope that you have had an uninterrupted nights sleep.

Wow GreenT your typical day would finish me off! How awful for your son being bullied. It's hard to decide what needs to give when you are such a busy mum. I hope it starts to get easier for you. I second Toot, nothing like a good nights sleep to make you feel much better and refreshed.

oh greent, no wonder you are exhausted hun, i would be doing half of that! I really hope you get the bullying sorted. I so so hate all that and would have to have it out with the parents. They need to deal with their child and nip that awful behaviour in the bud! grrr.

    get some proper sleep girly!

Greent Im worried for you. :)

No wonder you feel like that after everything you do, mentally and physically.

Remember to take time out for you, you're no good to anyone when you're so drained and exshausted from it all.

From a mother of another large family..:) I'm reminding you..in a nice way.. to only do what you have to do. Cut corners where you can. Making cakes can wait for another day. You dont have to go to school events..I don't. :) You can't survive on that amount of sleep. Take time out for you Mrs!

I hope your DS2 gets it sorted sharpish. That's unacceptable.

Hello again..... thank you all for your replies :) I feel somewhat better now! I phoned DH up that day and he could tell I was close to breaking. Anyway, I've managed some better sleep since and am not wallowing in self pity... Also mtge is at £94750 - yeay!!

Have 160 items (some of which are bundles) ready to go to NCT sale next weekend - more junk out of the house!! I'd love to sell half of it, if I can - have priced loads of stuff at 50p just to shift it (and save the tedium of listing on ebay) HAve about 20 items on ebay -mainly relists, but will hopefully sell a couple at least.... Will try and sit down on Thurs and put some more bits on at 99p start, too.

DS2's situation looks like being resolved - at least for now - whether the brat involved reverts back to standard behaviour remains to be seen. DS1 is in Y6 in the same school and has been instructed to check on little bro occasionally! :D

DH's birthday tomorrow - we've spent the last 25 (I think) years of birthdays together at least for part of the day... not this time...

Right - need to get off here and get stuff ready for school run - DD needs picking up from a supermarket a few miles away as they've had an outing to look at Gloucester Docks! Also need to post DH's birthday cards (should have done it yesterday, really, but just didn't get around to it :()
