Thanks everyone - all better now! DH was ill too, but as he's 'up North' I didn't have to deal with him as well
FREE LISTING on EBAY this weekend - open to all non-business sellers - wonder what I'm doing with my weekend now?!(was only wonderinga bout 20 mins ago when the next one would be - yippee!!)
Spoke to DH's accountant yesterday - recommends paying mtge off as much as poss - well, that's exactly what I'm trying to do!!! Just haven't got the funds to do it as quickly as I'd likeI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Right - received a £39.97 refund for some things I bought last September and sent back last week
- so have sent £40 OP to the mortgage
Little by little it's going to go
I need to OP another £69 + pennies to get to sub £95K on 1st Oct. I will do this!! Am listing some bits on ebay this weekend - most only start at about 99p - £2 - but hopefully will sell another dozen or so items. DS3's travel system can go on there too (I'll start it low at about £20 - £25) along with the buggy board and the 2 Graco car seat base thingies. They were all going in the NCt sale, but they can do that if they don't sellI might put DD's bike on, too - it's immaculate but I can't see me getting what I want for it on ebay - may try the local paper...
Wonder how soon I can get sub £90k?:rotfl::rotfl:I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

Inspired by you my first ebay listing has just gone on, it's a bit of a faff but I am thinking it will get easier and I know that I will get competitive if things sell.0

Hmm - bit confused now.
Hope youe ebay stuff sold, tootallulah
I didn't get anything on except relists on the FLW - just too busy until Sun evening and then the internet connection played up
Anyway, £80 OP made today from quidco money (from OH's company mobile) and the late ebay payment. Means that we'll be sub £95K 01/10/10 - woo hoo!!
However, have looked at finances from now until Xmas and we're rather skintboo hoo!! Will still continue with OPs as much as possible...
DH still working 'up North' Contract official end date is end of Oct but there is a rumour that it could end much sooner. As his notice is only 1 week that's not goodThe upside would be he could get some DIY and decorating done before Xmas
It's DH's bday in less than a month and I haven't a clue what to get himHe's a nightmare to buy for!
Must start Xmas prep too. DD's bday is just before and DS2's just after, so that adds to it
Just TOO much to do right now! Have DH's work stuff to sort, NCT stuff (am treasurer), his tax return to finish and lots of stuff to do in teh house. DS2 is at school part time only until month end and I also need to visit secondary schools with DS1 before submitting the application for them. Life is quite hassley at the mo and complicated by the no of children/ age spread and DH being away!
Ho hum!!
And I'm in the red zone on the MFiT2 challengeBah humbug!!

£15 OP sent today - that's this week's tax credits payment and £5 that someone owed me.
Only have bids on 3 things on ebay and very few watchers, so not expecting a lot from there. They all end tomorrow. Will renew attack in October - SO much to do this month - ebay is wa-ay down the list of priorities! There's an NCT sale locally next month, too - so will hopefully shift some unwanted items and make a bit of extra cash for OPs from that, too
Doesn't feel like I've done much this month - but have OP'ed £400 in addition to our regular OPNot bad going, if I say so myself! Am so looking forward to when our fixed rate ends on the big bit of the mortgage next month. I can justifiably attack the smaller part, then (no OPs made to it this year) as it will have the larger interest rate. Will be nice to see that come down by a reasonable amount - currently just over £24K and only reduces by about £155-160 each month. Would love to get it to £20K by Xmas, but can't see any way that'll happen!!! If DH gets another contract quickly after this one finishes (unlikely in the run up to Xmas) we *could* take a bigger dividend and pop that on the mortgage - fingers crossed!!

Another £40 OP sent today - ebay, this week's tax credits and £5 repaid to me
Have had letter from C&G showing revised 'standard' mortgage payment after our fix ends and taking into account OPs to date - can't remember exact figure but it's about £820 - as opposed to £1000+ at the start of the year. Yeay! Just need rates to stay low for as long as possible to take advantage of it now...
Have £80 sort-of ready to OP straight off next month - cashback paid & awaited
Didn't do anything on FLW last weekend other than relist unsold items and put 3 similar items on. No bids and only a couple of watchers, but what will be will be with it. I'm too full of a cold to care and have been so busy these last few weeks. Have taken my eye off a few balls, as have had other ones to juggle about with. So tired. DS3 still wakes 3-4 x every night after I'm in bed, DS2 wakes a couple of times a week and I'm not getting to bed until about midnight trying to get stuff done and then my alarm goes off at 6... I'm sleep deprived!
Gave in and put heating on yesterday - was so cold and teh children were complaining and it had been drizzling all day. Had it on 7.15-10.20 last night and 6.30-8 this morning. Has made a big difference - the house isn't chilly to come into (well, I was cold this afternoon, but that's 'cos I don't feel well, so I snuggled on the sofa with a blanket and 2 small children) I'll put it on again when I go out tonight (visiting secondary school with DS1) as my mum is babysitting and I don't want her to be cold. I'll aim to turn it off at 10 and be in bed no later than 11 though... (she says.....)
Anyway, will be sub £95K after 1st Oct. Spreadsheet shows sub £90K 1st April. I'm going to try for 1st Feb. Depends on DH's contracts though - has nothing lined up after the Northern one finishes.
I still need to finalise his tax return and pay £14K bill tooWill make that a priority job for October. (Well, finalising it - will hold off paying it all straight off)
