  • Ha ha tech deprivation. Always a good strategy.
  • He will grow out of it, hopefully sooner rather than later. All my boys were naughty but are now responsible adults, which I never would have believed during the teenage years.
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

I was a nightmare between 15-18 (and like to think I'm ok now) so am hoping for similar (although fingers crossed he'll get better A level results than I did!)

Haha! In which case I must've been getting towards genius level, given some of my teenage escapades! ;):o:p

Thanks, apple. All were ok, 'cept DS3 has come down with sniffles and an on/off rash by his eyes :(

Money news - I have applied for (and been accepted) a Clydesdale c/ac, so should get the £150 switching bonus!:T This is to replace my M&S c/ac (opened around Oct) - only used for rental monies, so will happily switch it around anywhere to make most of any freebies whilst they are available :D

Teeny tiny sub acct on BTL mtge has been confirmed as fully repaid:j Have decided that it definitely doesn't make sense to repay any more of the BTL accounts on a monthly basis (regardless of how much I like to see reducing balances :() but will save monthly in a savings acct to repay it - starting after our holibobs :):) - so will do a spreadsheet for it, showing effective net BTL balance, to keep me motivated :D

Another thing sold on fleabay today :T Currently have nothing more to list! No funds for Flo-rida from this sale, though - item was DD's.

OH currently decorating DS2's room - so DS2 sleeping in DS1's room - good job it's the holidays! ;):D DS1's room is next - but that will be after the exams. Hopefully OH may get another contract before our holiday, too - although if he's home then he's handy for school runs whilst I'm invigilating - and can keep an eye on the teens! :D;)

Suppose I should get off to bed, really....

I feel your pain...I think you may have abducted my teenager as the similarities are striking, the latest detention letter through the post was for a "refusal to stand in form line in assembly after clear requests to do so." :rotfl: I know I shouldn't laugh, but I spat my tea out at this. I find myself constantly repeating instructions to him for the most simple of things, most of the time he's on his own planet (a nice place to go on holiday I'm sure).

As for tech this resonated, he can be so sly and despite removal of various items he resurrected an old netbook I'd forgotten about, I couldn't fathom why he was still so tired!. He doesn't have a girlfriend, but that makes me wince too:o.

Ah, Arkers, that also rings true for here! - DS1 resurrected an old mobile - whilst it had no sim, he could still use wifi to kik/ whatsapp/ fbook message etc.....!

Anyway, moving on....... :) A week into the holidays. We've been nowhere, but DS3 is a bit poorly. OH is decorating DS2's room - he should be able to move back into it tonight and the last bits done over the next few days (not all of his things will move back in today, but his bookcase is back in place and re-filled, so he is happy with that! :D The teens are revising (exactly how much I'm not entirely sure) and DD has been out to the cinema and pub with friends and has a sleepover on Monday (thankfully not here this time!) DS is meeting up with friends today - if he ever gets up and cleans his bathroom and gets some revision done first, that is!! A possible cinema trip with the small ones is planned next week, along with tackling their holiday homework at the beginning of the week.

Decluttering is continuing - items going on fbook and fleabay and a parcel last week to Ziffit. DD is also going great guns at getting rid of things :) There is also yet another box of items building up for the CS - will take that there in a few days when my fleabay items have finished. Am still not convinced you can actually tell there's been any progress anywhere in the house, though!!
