Okay, that was a good catch from apple muncher! Greent, a rethink is needed :grouphug:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

It's Spring!!!!!!
New iron is here, as is new Kitchenaid - and all is right with the world (well.......) I actually find ironing quite therapeutic & calming in a sort of meditative way - good job too, really!
It's a bit of 'me' time, too, as I do it in front of catch up tv programmes which no one else likes to watch - and I'm not good at just sitting and watching tv unless it's late on an evening and I'm shattered.
Moneywise.... hmmm.... refund achieved from original Iron vendor. New one purchased (different brand) from am@zon for only £20 more (special Spring offer, it seems) - and amaz0n vouchers used (from cashback claim) so no real money spentKAid arrived with some accessories which I already had, so the new ones have been listed on fleabay
PS and Wii games Kondo'd yesterday and was going to just Ziffit any really old ones which they'd take - but some are selling on fleabay for over £10 (and they're the children's) so have spent 90 mins this morning listing those too. Did DD's application for student finance with her last night - all getting very real now!
Have my work schedule for Summer exams for one school and have advised the other school of my availability. Looks like I could be quite busy! All money rec'd from invigilation goes straight to Florida Fund, so I'm not complaining
Have a couple of pieces of furniture surplus to requirements which I shall list on faceb00k over the coming week. Will take to CS if they don't go (although am only looking at getting £20 max for any item, so they *should* hopefully sell ok) Have donated a few more unwanted gifts/ items from gift stash as tombola prizes - clears a tiny bit more space
DD is busy clearing things from her room, too - I think she's looking at it from a 'do I want this when I'm at Uni?' perspective - and it's working well. I'm not asking her to clear anything, but am selling anything for her which appears to have value and we're donating some bits too. I also have a couple of bags of unwanted clothes form myself and OH which I will take into H&M for their £5 voucher scheme (I think that they're still doing it) - it's one of DD's fave places to pick up basics, which she is in need of - she doesn't buy many clothes and when she does we tend to buy a decent amount at one time - so then it all seems to be wearing out at the same time (think holes in the elbows of long sleeved tshirts)
Off out with the small 2 this morning to a local skate/ scooter park - DS2 is going along to a party (so £0) and DS3 is also coming along (as are a couple of other friends his age who are siblings of party goers) cost £5
Food spends are in my signature for this month - not looking too bad, especially as I bought quite a lot of YS meat this week. Main freezer still has good space in it, though and tiny freezer almost empty (I could probably empty the contents into main freezer - I may do that this week, and then I can turn the small one off and clean it)
Although all purchases this month have been considered, we still seem to have spent out - swimming lessons for new term for DS2 & DS3, blinds for their windows (DS3's curtains are unlined so he has been needing one and DS2's is damaged), bday present for my Nan (just a large bouquet of flowers), some books from amaz0n which are recommended reading for one of DD's A2 exams and aren't in the school library... it's never ending!
Happy Sunday!

Beautiful day here - 2 full loads of washing completely dried on the line and an Easter egg hunt around the garden:easter_ba:EasterBun
as weather is meant to be very rainy for next few days
A few items sold on fleabay:T - will update sig when all paid for. Also took some things to tip/ recycling centre, so more stuff has left the premisesPriced/ labelled items for NNS and delivered a bag of rags and some CDs to the CS. More CDs added to the Ziffit pile - should hopefully finish them tomorrow - just classical and compilations left to do
Have also been clearing DS2's room out - was meant to finish that today but spent a bit of time in garden and also did the tip run - DS2's room can be done when it's raining, after all!
Applied for PO CC for OH - cashback tracked straight off - v impressed. Also applied for a M&S c/ac for him - current offer there is £100 gift card + £120 if you keep and use it for a year. He currently has £85 payable from tcb - I think I'll take it in amazon vouchers and will then probably use them towards Xmas. Will transfer the equivalent over to Florida Fund, though (which is where fleabay and Ziffit monies are also going)
Need to phone BTL mtge provider and check that the payment to clear the v small account went through ok - have had no notification from them of that sub acct being repaid. Will leave until Tues now, though.
I'm *hopeful* of a small tax rebate for me for the current tax year (tax codes changed lots after acquiring the part time jobs and I'm sure I'm being overtaxed), so will aim to get my paperwork to the accountant asap after tax year end.
Have been looking at theme park tickets for our hols.... somewhere in the region of £3500:eek: :eek:to have some flexibility and go everywhere we want to go... 3 of us also need new passports - but I don't want to send off for DS1's for a couple of weeks as he'll be 16 then.
Happy BH weekend to one and all

That's a big deal for your DS to turn 16!
And the weather forecast! Overnight, the forecast is talking about gusts of over 60mph here, inland in the south of England! I've only been checking online forecasts for a few years, but I've never seen it that high round me!
Hope you have a good few days, greent :easter_os2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hiya greent, been reading but rubbish about posting! Glad you got your KitchenAid sorted, mine is called Doris as I thought she needed a Granny-sounding name
. I'd be lost without her, to quote Victoria Wood, I'm sure I'm borderline hypoglycaemic-pastry dependent :rotfl:
Have to say I am breathless reading your updates - I think I am uber-efficient & pack a lot in but you make me look like a particularly slow snail! I hope you all have a fab time on your holiday & well done on all the decluttering :TLife is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -

Having recently been to Florida on our cruise, I was surprised at how expensive the parks are these days, and also the other attractions.
When we did it all in the 90's, I don't know if it was comparatively cheaper, or whether we had a different mind set and paid out for things without thinking (most likely), BUT, it was money well spent - we loved our theme park holidays back in the day!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Ah - DS1 is being a right pain at the mo. He managed 9 detentions (mainly for lack of homework or effort) in the space of about 5 weeks which he didn't tell us about - we thought that he was at after school revision sessions
He's currently grounded and has a lack of tech. We are the parents from Hell...... He has just acquired his first girlfriend so really isn't keen on us. Mind you, I'm not keen on the lies and deceit he's employed of late....
Wet and windy here so far today. Mixed bag of weather yesterday with a short lived but crazy hail storm in the afternoon which the small ones enjoyed watching
My K-Aid's called Ronnie, RT(as in Purple Ronnie.... guess the colour!
) and I love it!
We've been to Florida just the once before, GG - back in 2007 - and the park tickets weren't such a big deal that time - mind you, only 2 of us needed adult tickets, then we had 2 child tickets and DS2 didn't need one, at only 22 months. This time around it's 5 adult + 1 child ticket - and we need to factor in a couple of days at LegolandStill, t will all be fab. There are some BHol ticket deals around at the mo, so I may try and get at least some of them sorted today if I can fit it in.

Sorry DS1 is being a pain-hopefully it's just a passing phase.
It's very windy here today and it was snowing earlier-but not settling, thankfully. I hate driving in snow.
