I believe we'll still be ok, as we keep our income levels to basic rate tax, so won't see any change, I don't think. If hubby went back to being an employee rather than a contractor it would be different as he'd be higher rate. We've also only ever claimed for actual costs re wear and tear, not a %age :) I will double check with the accountant when I next see them though! :):D

I love the shopping from the loft for DS2 :) and clearing stuff out as well - that might be one of my aims today :)

OK ... Hurrah; something for which to be grateful that I haven't been higher rate this year and unlikely to be next year ... :j? Actually, not sure this works as it hasn't started yet :(. Also confused  (easily done) ... is the actual costs vs 10% also related to tax band?
Really need to get into the detail of this ... not today though ... when I've tried to look at it I've found it hard to find much of proper help past the headline changes (and petitions and politics. Heard a very funny thing on the radio the other day ... true that you couldn't have made it up ... wife of ex-Labour PM doing the JR challenge to a Tory policy penalising landlords ... the world is upside down!)

No - that applies to everyone, I believe x

'Twas my bday yesterday, as well as MDay - cue a heap of pressies and cards, the vast majority of which are consumable in one way or another, the non-consumables being a ceramic utensils pot (in purple :D:D) (old one already washed and added to CS box), a silver bracelet and a little wooden plaque from DD (which is ace) (and plants and 2 trees) Although I now have enough No 7 to open my own small branch of B00ts!! :rotfl:

Gave my mum her pressies (a camellia and a painted glass plate with some gorgeous red poppies on which goes perfectly with her living room, if I say so myself! :D) Bestie and her hubby visited for several hours, too :)

Main down of the weekend was illness in the house - nothing major but lots of it! DS1 was sent home from school on Fri morning (I was working at his school so he hung around for me for a while) - heavy cold had finally caught up with him (he'd been struggling for a couple of days) and he'd also had a Meningitis jab that morning. At 12.30 I got a call to say DS3 was crying and complaining of a headache. I went to school and offered him Calp0l but he wanted to come home. As there was a WBD party on that afternoon it seemed fair enough. He came home, had calp0l (temp 39.8), changed into a onesie and promptly fell asleep - and then woke up and was sick everywhere. He was very hot all evening/ night and Saturday day, spending much of it asleep, drinking a little bit when awake and occasionally vomiting bile/ just retching. We were meant to be going out Sat night for a meal but obv cancelled and had a takeaway instead with wine from our stock - so quite MSE, really!! :p

He was a bit brighter yesterday, but still not eating and still sleeping a fair bit. He's off school today. DS2 was off this morning after complaining of a bad headache and feeling sick last night, going to bed early and crashing out straight off (almost unheard of) and then still being tired this morning. However, he appeared in school clothes at 9.30! He ate breakfast and lunch and was fine, just bored, so I asked school if it was ok to send him in. TBH, I only kept him off because last night he seemed like DS3 was on Fri afternoon, OH appears to have manflu and fell asleep late afternoon yesterday, missing out on the yummy roast I made :( He's been asleep on the sofa with DS3 for part of the morning!!

DD visited her insurance choice of uni on Sat. SHe has now completed her firm and insurance choices through UCAS and completed her accom choices for the firm. We have the delights of student finance to do this week/ weekend! Then it's just down to her to get the grades! :D

Tight finances this month - hopefully have got OH on board. Have paid CC bills and due to their larger than normal size (mainly because of new Tv and some IKEA shopping!) current account funds are now restricted this month - I could transfer some from savings, but want to see if we can manage without doing that - have re-done the freezers inventory and am determined that we should managed quite well with what we have - obv need f&v, (lots of) milk, yogurts, ham etc, but want to use up some things which we 've had hanging around a while if I can. We have my nan's bday later in the month, but I'm only getting her flowers (she'll be 86 and is getting frail. SHe doesn't need anything and doesn't like ornaments and the like anyway!) and a party which DS2 has been invited to - but I already have the card and present for that (from stash :D) Could be a bit squeaky by month end, but it would be good to see if we can do it :)

Lovely blue skies here today - quite chilly out still, but a real sense that Spring is on its way! :T
