Nope - just phoned again. First question was is it for this or next year? When I said next year, computer said no. Queried this and they said they had stopped opening for next year on Friday ready for the new 3.2% rate version.

That's really wierd......they asked me same questions and confirmed I would be getting 3.5%. I don't really know their call centre set up - perhaps we spoke to different departments.
Anyway - sorry you've not been able to do it0 -

Oh well
I phoned up around the same time as you and got one. I find this strange.
Just keep trying?0 -
Yes, this is really weird I am absolutely positive they said 3.5% yesterday..0

The Flexible ISA @ 3.5% doesn't allow transfers in, they're for new money only. I assume that means transfers from other A&L ISAs too.
Yes I rambled a little.
Transferred my existing Issue 3 into an Issue 6. Already filled this years allowance.
Opened the 3.5% flexible today for next year.
Will run them side by side. Will add the 5.1k allowance to the 3.5%.
It is a shame they don't allow transfers in but I might as well maximise it all by new money in that and existing in the Issue 6. Seems the most logical.0 -

Very.
My phone call went like this.
'Can I open the 3.5% flexible Isa on the phone'.
'Yes - this year or next'
'Next'
Then it was all done.
At no point was anything less than 3.5% mentioned and at no point was it questioned.
You have me questioning now what they hell I have opened! Probably entered the phone number wrong and just bought a pension or something!0 -

Same questions - third go - different person. Still not able to open now for next tax year.

Out of interest do you have any kind of existing account with Santander?
I do - maybe it was easier as they just had to read the t&c and not go through all my personal details?0 -
