With the cost of getting up to Scotland, I'd want it to be low cost when I got there too

i will see if i can find a sexy riotous police man for you tomorrow bob ...will put a sticker saying property of BOB if i do find one ....
yep see it is gonna be expensive for some people just to get to Scotland ...and Scotland itself ...in particular the highlands are extortionate ...i cant afford to go on holiday in Scotland it's cheaper to go abroad ...another good reason to do it in 2011 time to save the pennies ...and see if we can get things cheaper
well i am in work have taken my walking boots to work to try and break them in ...they are soo sore ...it feels like my left foot has grown as my toes were feeling crushed against the boot ...lost all feeling in my toes so have taken the boot off and now i have pins and needles ...so i think it might just take me a while to get used to these boots0 -
Watch out Elantan, I had some Merrel vikram walking shoes, they were Ok for a few years, and then suddenly I had problems, nearly lost the toe nails on both big toes. Maybe you need to get a different size.0

well the auction was a waste of time ...cost me £15 in diesel and £5 charge to be able to bid and nothing there worth buying at all ...but atleast now i know this so that is a good thing ...
sorry bob not even a sexy riot cop for ya boo hoo0 -
ok i am going to a police auction tomorrow in Dalry (skinty is ya interested?) to see if i can pick anything up for the walk ...i dont know about the rest of you but i want to do it as cheap as i can ...so police auctions usually throw some interesting things up for sale at cheap as chips prices ..will let you know how i go
oops sorry, just read this:o! I've heard it's a good place to get bikes. Can't you see a list of stuff that's up for sale before you go? I'm sure I've seen something like that but don't know if it was of what they sold in previous auction.
Avon Skin So Soft (green one) really does work well against the midgies, I always react really badly so I have tried a few things and this one (although it smells horrible) is good.Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Hello, we've just been looking at the website and it's looks great. I've been discussing with OH and we're interested with the proviso that he's blind and we're try to see which bits would work for him. Even the name "Devil's Staircase" has him sweating.
In the interim we'll start off doing some bits here on the old railway lines which he likes as they're flat and compact. Given he's still recovering from a stroke and undergoing mobility training with the RNIB having him interested at all is fantastic. Having a goal for next year - even if it's just 1 stage is brilliant for him.
Thanks for the great idea.
PS We won't slow anyone down, we'll just toodle at our pace so please don't feel we'll keep you back.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Only ideas I've got is to keep toenails short, and when you put the boots on to make sure the heel is firmly in the heel space, then tighten the laces, I always have to retighten laces after walking a bit anyway otherwise the foot can move forwards. But hopefully more experienced people will be along and can give better advice.0

there were plenty of bikes there two for £1 ...i kid ya not ...but if you were really into cycling then bikes that were of no use to you whatsoever but fell into the cycling catagorey were going for over £100 i took a friend with me she was there for a bike ..mad cyclist to put it mildly she bidded for one it went for just over £100 and she assures me was not worth anymore than £60
oh skin so soft ...have tried it several times ...didnt work for me ...yet ...but there is always hope0 -

hey kissjen dont worry about holding anyone back ...it isnt a race ..(thankfully ) i tried to get up a hill today and thought i was gonna pop my clogs ...deff practise needed me thinks.... and as far as i am concerned its more about the journey than the destination...
i know a few people that have done it ...some even for a deafblind charity (i work for one of them ) so maybe a few of them might be able to suggest parts that you can both enjoy ...will phone head office on monday if i get a minute ...might not though as we are still dealing with the devestation of the earth ship ...but as soon as i can i will ..
or if anyone else has done the walk ...can you suggest anywhere suitable?0 -
