OS Daily Thread - Friday 26th March

Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Friday 26th March. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning lovely OS-ers!

Bitsy - Adult tap sounds such fun, I hope you really enjoy it.
Julie - I assume MDV was meant to be me :rotfl: and it was lovely to read your more upbeat post. *hugs*
Gemma - It's SO hard to eat sensibly when you love to bake, I know!
Snoozer - As much as I would like to claim I just memorize it all, the truth is that I open 'Notepad' and jot things down as I read.
JackieG - I would suggest unplugging it and plugging it back in again.. (can you tell I am a bit of a luddite?) giggle.gif
Stroppyjock - I thought your post was really touching. Must have been a hard christmas for you all though.
sistercas - Re Freecycle; You can elect not to have any emails at all but it would mean you have to keep logging on to the site and checking new posts of course
Topsyturvy - Nice to read you, and congratulations on finding your new home.

HShungry.gifBreakfast will be a fruit pot and a softbake cherry slice (Thank you Approved foods ;)); lunch will be HM bread with my old favourite, coronation chicken with lettuce and tomato. Dinner will be pasta with a tomato-y sauce and bacon.

The tadpoles are doing well though seeing how quickly they dispose of little tadpole corpses is a little unsettling!! I have 10 in a bowl on the table now, the rest are back out in the pond.

With love, light and warm gentle hugs.giffor anyone who wants one.

    Morning.

Long weekend off for me. Not sure what to do as it looks like rain all weekend.... It's been very wet here all week. So much for spring and a chance to get the gardens on the go.
Woke up early today, probably because I went to bed early last night. Tired and bored...
No idea what to do today. Greenhouse to pot on some plants I started in the house, Food shopping.... Hmmmm

    Morning All

:beer:Happy Birthday NPM- have a great day:beer: Didn't realise it was your 40th, Life begins today :rotfl:

    Its Friday :j

Have got a trip to a new hairdressers today, my last haircut was really bad so am looking forward to having a decent cut, not OS but a bit MSE as have some birthday money to put towards it.

Will pop into M&S while in town and pick up a chicken for Sunday, again MSE as will use my giftcard. Will be even better if they have the £10 offer on.

In the office this morning before the hairdressers, unfortunately wont be too much OS here today but plan to clean the house from top to bottom tomorrow so will make up for it then.

Chicken stirfry for dinner tonight. Bought a new wok from chinatown so it should be good!

Diva - eeewww at the tadpoles, nature can be disturbing!

    Enjoy your Friday everyone.x

    Morning all,

Happy Birthday to NPM :bdaycake:have a great day, I shall raise a glass to you tonight

Looks to be a nice day here, I am off to work, but i finish at lunch time, so not too bad, dd is off on a sleepover, so i will try to empty her room as much as possible, so that I can try and get all the painting done over the weekend, it will be mych easier without all her [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] stuff around :D.

Sainsbugs delivery came last night, a huge bit of pork for £9, and a leg of lamb £9, both will do us a good few meals, I might get the beef next week.

I also got some smoked mackerel, which I will make some pate with, how did yours go JackieO ?

OH is at work tomorrow, and dd out so hopefully I can get one coat on the walls in her room.

Tea tonight I think will be chilli, which OH can make, he is very good at that now and it gives me a night off from cooking :T

OK better get on, have good days all xx

    :rotfl::rotfl:TGI Friday Everyone!

NPM [STRIKE]:xmassign:[/STRIKE] Oops I mean HAPPY BIRTHDAY:dance::dance::dance: Enjoy the champers and fish and chips!!

I am very very tired today and still have my TOTM headache, but I'm sure it will clear soon. It is raining frogs up here (thought this was more appropriate than cats and dogs in light of Diva's "interesting" table decoration:rotfl:).

The plasterer and joiner were both here yesterday, not to impressed with the plasterer's finish, or the fact that I couldn't lock the front door after the joiner had gone home:eek: but they will both be back today, so hopefully it will all be ironed out. BG engineer coming to sort out my dodgy oven today too, so busy day all round. Meant to be having my youngest DSis up for afternoon tea today but as the kitchen worktops should be getting replaced, think I'll put her off til Monday.

Dinner tonight will be my favourite Veggie Haggis and the boye who don't like it will be having Chook, which will be a big treat as I don't like cooking it at all (well they will be if the oven's sorted).

Hope you all have a lovely day.

PS Diva and Gemma, thanks for the technical advice, Gemma's won, and we're back to normal now!:o

    Hugs, Jackie X

Erm, not sure where those laughing smilies at the start of my post came from, maybe I didn't sort my techie problems out after all!
