Had to pop to shop for milk this morning, £2 coin in change that's not £18.00 total and not really thought about it much....good way to make little savings. Off to change my sig to reflect this.

Have a good day all x
  • Choc that was a really interesting read. I think I was in a similar situation, I would always say this was the year I was going to sort my finances out but never actually do anything about it. Then all of a sudden I realised how much better my life would be if I actually did it too and the prospect of being able to start a family.

Sadly not a NSD for me as needed milk but have managed a very healthy eating day so far, a run at lunchtime and 1 litre of water already :j Second litre of water now sitting on desk to be sipped throughout the afternoon. Feeling good

    Evening all,

Just sat on couch nowfor the evening - bliss :D

Have just had me a lovely chilli for dinner. At same time I did some batch cooking so now have enough chilli for another 3 meals at least and did another tuna pasta bake to use up the other halves of the peppers etc so they don't go to waste so another 4 dinners there - woo hoo very MSE :j

Achievements today - healthy eating all day long, 2 litres of water and still going, run at lunchtime, batch cooked enough dinners for 7 days :T

Am going to try and meal plan a bit now so that OH and I don't spend so much money on food - probably our main area of wastage. OH could eat the chilli but he's not much a fan of kidney beans so may batch cook another lot for him and get in some tortilla chips (doesn't like rice) and cook a job lot up for him also so that he can have some dinners ready.

Off to read diaries now for more motivation! x

Well done on the batch cooking.

Tonight we did Gammon in the slow cooker which has enough for a few lunches. Tomorrow i am cooking my first curry in the smow cooker which will allow me to freeze two more meals for OH and I! :D I have a chilli and casserole ready for next week in the freezer already!

I hope you have had a good day x

  • Ooh I love slow cookers! They are saviours!

Hi Choc - thought I'd pop in and see how you're doing. Well done on the batch cooking. I never seem able to do it! Maybe it's just finding the motivation! I'm thinking about meal planning, but don't know if I'll feel like what I've planned by the time I come to make it - if that makes sense! Will prob give it a go though, as like you, food is our biggest waste!

ANyway, keep up all the good work xx

Oh, and can I be cheeky and give littlekel a little wave back! Isn't Devon the best place to live?

Hey Devonmaid! Yes definitely! Just went to Dartmoor to Canonteign falls today and it was beautiful!!! I love being here...i feel really lucky!

RE the meal planning....i get what you mean about thinking you might not feel like what you have planned. This was the big thing with my OH. He likes to see what he feels like after work and have that...but since he has been on here reading the boards he was quite happy to meal plan and hasnt moaned yet about not wanting what we have planned!! I save soooooo much veg and meat this way :D Good luck x
