I hope i have more boys, well maybe saying that may sound harsh but my DD is the stroppiest little madam that I (and my entire family) has ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am not willing to take the chance, lol!
My ds on the other hand..give him a simple toy car/comic book/unbranded kiddy toy and its the best thing since sliced bread, give my dd an equally simple item and its 9 times out of 10 the wrong thing, i even got christmas wrong and is content in being in a permanant huffy state.0 -
I could have written your post when I found out that I was expecting my son, I grew up with mainly sisters (my only brother was born when I was 13 and I was kicked out of home when I was 16 so didn't have a lot to do with him growing up) I was terrified but the second he was born none of it mattered
Boys are, ime, different than girls but in no way more difficult. My daughter is very independant and my son isn't. That has it's bonus too though, he's 9 now and still loves cuddles and will happily hold my hand/hug me in the street cby this age my daughter was getting embarressed by that (though at 17 she still loves a cuddle at home when she's feeling a bit low)
I'm a bit apprehensive about the whole puberty/facts of life talk as being a woman I've never had to experience it from the male side but apart from that I can't think of any single way that having a boy was/is more difficult than having a girl.0 -
ive got 2 boys and find them lovely...a complete delight....good luckonwards and upwards0

OP, I wouldn't worry about it too much as it may be a girl that you're having, despite your feelings!!
I wasn't too bothered second time around to be honest. I made all the right noises about not being bothered whether my first was a boy or girl, but secretly I wanted a girl and I was glad that's what I got! If I'd have had a boy first then I would have been longing for a girl next time (albeit not minding really as long as it's healthy of course).
DD is 7 now and has always been the one that's not that bothered about what I put out for her to wear or how I do her hair, eats everything she's given and never nags or makes a fuss about anything.
DS on the other hand is 4 and a full-on drama queen!! He moans every day because he wants to wear his school hoodie, which he only wears on Wednesday for PE. He moans every day because he doesn't want to go to school (yet runs in full pelt without a backward glance when he gets there). He's constantly stinking dirty, loves wrestling his friends/sister/me to the ground and then fighting. He loves his gun and his toy tank/helicopter/various cars, and also taking them apart. And don't get me started on him constantly pulling squinty-eyed faces, farting, burping, and generally being vile!
Butttttt.......... he also loves to have his nails painted and a bit of lipgloss and eyeshadow when DD has a "makeover" (and has the screaming ab-dabs if you don't let him), he loves Hello Kitty and all things pink, does a gymnastics class with his sister and his best friend on a Saturday and of the two of them he's the one that will climb up on my lap for a cuddle and say "I love you mammy" or "I missed you today mammy" unprompted (although usually because he wants something but thinks I'm too dull to realise it!!). And when him and DD are cuddled up in the same bed together fast asleep on the weekend, it's just the cutest thing ever.
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
I have a boy (10)and a girl (7 next week). Regardless of gender they both have different personalities. My son is loud, boisterous, logical, scientific, overly-sensitive. My daughter is friendly, sunny, warm, imaginative, creative, talkative, a drama queen, doesn't always think things thru.
Someone else with a boy and a girl will say totally different things.
When they were babies my son crawled & walked early and got into mischief from that day on. My daughter talked far earlier and has yet to shut up.;)0 -
I felt exactly the same as you!
My sisters all had girls, I was used to girls. I knew what to do with girls. Was terrified of ever having a boy. I had a girl :j Then I had my DS. Gosh he was wonderful compared to a girl. Much easier to clean too. Just beware of it going flying and him peeing all over you, although girls can do that too, not as frequently as boys :rotfl:4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Panic not!! my Mum had 6, me (girl) my sister, then 4 boys according to her the boys were a picnic. I had 3 boys who were loving, playful and loved making a mess in the kitchen, they did keep Dad busy and out of my hair on Saturdays.( in those days Dads did not figure much durin the week) They went on to have between them 2 boys and 3 girls and each of them say boys is easy!!!!
What ever sex you have "it will be fun"

I have 8 children.. 5 girls and 3 boys.. After my third boy I said I was not having any more boys and had the 3 girls.. the boys are horrible, smelly, rude, destructive, ignorant, messy, cheeky, difficult and such hard work!! The girls are a delight.. most of the time.. we do have screaming and drama queening but nothing half as vulgar as the boys dole out!!
If I could have chosen I'd have had 8 girls and had any of the 3 little ones been boys I was absolutely not bringing them home from the hospital!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
We have twin boys, I was so glad that we had boys, I never wanted girls as I would be lost with pink and girly things...... I work in a secondary school with 11-13 year olds the boys are so much more fun and personable and the girls are hard work and cheeky.
Boys for me anyday.
