Soft fruit can be frozen and used in puds or smoothies instant ice-cream etc. as it doesn't look the same when it comes out but still tastes good if you have lot freeze on a flat tray covered with cling and then transfer to a box when frozen so it's not in one big lump
Cheese can be frozen (my gran used to have big pieces in her freezer)

one of my ways of saving money is to freeze so we dont waste food, we freeze bread, milk, butter, veg (after blanch cooking) etc.
Just wanted to add, that I don't bother blanching veg, I just chop into sizes as suits you and bung in a bag. They are fine that way and its alot quicker.other soft fruits perhaps.
I've got on fine with raspberrys, someone said open freeze then bag up which is what I've done.
Strawberrys can't be frozen whole, thats only to do with them defrosting into a mess, for want of a better wordhowever, you can purree them first, then freeze this.
We add this to plain yogurt.
Luttice and cucumber can't be frozen, well they can, but its the obvious high water content which just means it dosn't defrost very well.0 -
Freezing cheese grated is really good to stop it crumbling.
Also you can eat frozen bananas just they go funny when you defrost them. People on Weightwatchers recommend it as a healthy snack that takes ages to eat!!0 -

Aren't there some safety issues with freezing rice? Cooked rice, that is. I'm sure I've seen something about that on here but can't find it now! :cool:Proud to be OS :j0

It depends on the fat content of the cheese you want to freeze. Lancashire cheese freezes really well.:jRemember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm...As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.;)0
