What foods can/can't you freeze?

Have just opened a 250g packet of Parma Ham and then realised that it says use up within 2 days once open.
Can I freeze it as I don't think we will get through that much in the the next 2 days.
Should have read the packet first before ripping it open!0 -
It's cured meat - it will last much longer than a couple of days if you keep it in the fridge, but yes, you can freeze it if you want (like any ham).0

I always wonder this with cooked meats, you know the type you buy in supermarkets in the packs, sliced ham, turkey, chicken etc, can these all be frozen and do they taste ok when defrosted? I have never frozen packs of cooked meats before as I didn't think you could and could never see any mention on the packaging that they are ok to freeze.0

If keeping it in the fridge wrap it well in cling film or it will dry out (but not go off!)0

as long as it looks ok (not a funny colour, no mould etc) smells ok, and tastes ok (just have a little bit if it looks and smells ok) then it probably is ok. As others have said it is a cured meat, which helps to preserve it for longer so just keep it in a plastic bag in the fridge and it should be absolutely fine for ages yet0

I've bought the bigger family packs (cheaper per kg) of cooked ham and split them up and froze them. Nothing's ever happen to me, always tasted fine as well.0 -
Lidls smoked black forest ham seems very similar to palma ham low priced. A version of a spanish omlette as a main meal using this type of ham...small cubed pots part boiled and well drained...fry for a few mins and add prepared chopped peppers toms onions garlic to taste good pinch of mixed herbs and about 3 slices per person of palma/black forest ham chopped also...when almost cooked add some cheese and place under grill for a few mins or until browned a little...could serve with salad and crusty bread. Just made a batch of the best mince pies ever using Trex (and they are indeed!!!!!!) but have a load of mincemeat left.
I have added grated apple and chopped mixed nuts to my mincemeat - will this mix freeze or will it just go back in the jar in the fridge?Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books0 -
Hi Ive never tried to freeze mincemeat. I made my own last year and I'm still using it this year. I dont know how big your jar is but it should keep in the fridge. Ive also frozen mincepies successfully so I guess that the Jar will freeze.0
