What foods can/can't you freeze?

I'd also say give it a try rather than throwing it away, but you might find the veg makes it go a bit watery when you defrost it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, though!

Hello people,
I'm just making a chorizo bean stew....it smells yummy!
But I have about 50g of chorizo left (sausage form)
Does anyone know how long I can keep it in the fridge for? I won't want to eat it for a week or two and was wondering about freezing it?
Thanks!!

I asked this question a few weeks ago... and yes you can freeze it!
And I have eaten some since and it's perfectly fineWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
I always freeze Chorizo sliced up in a bag - it separates really easily even when frozen so you don't have to divide it into portions0

I know that sometimes the packaging says not suitable for freezing but that it couyld be as it compromises the quality, and sometimes because it is unsafe - frustratingly it doesn't say why!
I have bought 4 packs of lovely cooked sliced chicken with stuffing Yellow stickered down to an irresistable price so I took a chance on someone knowing what to do.
It says "Do not freeze" on the back. I know that there is a sort of rule about not cooking twice but wondered if it would be OK if I froze it and then cooked it through with gravy once defrosted?
I'm probably going to take a chance to be honest as before I started reading these forums I would have frozen and used without giving it a second thought, but now wondering if I should give DS (3) something different when DH and I eat it.
Thanks in advance.0 -

It's probably been frozen already, so the advice is not to freeze it again. Obviously up to you what you actually do
I'll add this to the Food Safety thread later, to keep ideas together.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
