I gather blackberries every autumn, just rinse and bag them, and then stew blackberry and apple right through the winter = comfort food!
Plus I watch out for anything freezable in the Sainsbury's reductions.....0 -
Mine is full of Meat because the price has rocketed in the last year and the grain harvest was poor again so I expect it to get even more expensive this year and I know I have enough to last me at least 6 months.
I also freeze all my home grown veggies or anything that is on special or whoopsied. I make bread every day so I don't bother freezing shop bought bread.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

i used to buy 6 pint bottles of milk, enough for two weeks at a time and freeze them in my chest freezer. as well as everything else of course, like half a pig, or a back quarter of beef. really miss it!sadly only have a very small freezer now, with hardly enough room for anything, but i have no room for a bigger one.0

I'm goig to sound really stupid now, but i really weird about freezing and defrosting meat i dont know why sounds daft but i feel it isn't fresh anymore once it's been frozen. If that makes sense!!
Check out this thread for ideas for what to keep in your freezer, and this thread for safety info.0 -

You can freeze quiche, so I'm sure you can do the same with frittata... it's practically the same thing after all...0

I cooked too many button mushrooms while batch making beef bourguignon and now am not sure what to do with them.
Can I freeze them?
Or should I put them into something else? In which case, what?
I'm not hugely keen on mushrooms personally but OH likes them.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Personally, I'm not keen on cooked mushrooms that have been frozen but the quick answer is 'yes, you can'.
I'd probably stick them in the fridge for tonight and then make mushroom fried rice for tea tomorrow. Or, if you can be bothered make it tonight for tomrrows lunch.0 -
Could you give them to hubby for breakfast tomorrow? Mushrooms on toast is lovely, could do it with scrambled egg or bacon or something?:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
