Hi guy's i'd like to join, am a little apprehensive though as everytime i do any kind of exercise im in agony after, its like they seize up (i sometimes feel like twice my age)

My knees grind and suffer from apparently restless leg syndrome, ive read somewhere about potassium suppliments so im going to get some and start taking them and i already take cod-liver oil.
Oh just to say ive had lots of tests, xrays etc the docs can't find nothing wrong, i think it has a lot to do with the excess weight im carrying, so is a vicious circle really!!
I sold some stuff and treated myself to a treadmill, which is coming wed's , Can;t wait!!!!

My ultimate dream is to run a half marathon (actually a marathon) but im being easy on myself and think i'll never acieve it, by the time im 40, (i have 3 years!!!)

    Better get a move on....................
Im not financially savvy as im still learning but i love to support anyone that needs it and give virual hug's and tea!!!
Can't do Bickie's Sorry, need to lose weight!!!

Today I managed a pathetic 15 minutes. However I did run at 5.7mph whereas it's always been 4.6-4.9mph before.

I usually run round a park which isn't far from me.

Yeah, keeping motivated isn't being my strong point right now! Nick it back ;)

I used to run at my local club in my teens but its now 20 years since I did any running . I have been thinking about doing some jogging but dont even have a pair of trainers!! Could someone recommend a good pair as cheap as possible please?
I can cobble together the rest of the kit and then I might just give this a go! Might even rope in my dd for some girly bonding if I can persuad her. So couch to 5 k it is ...maybe ... (whats that in old money lol??)

my stepmum got some joggies from asda for £3 they are as good as the ones i paid £20 for.

i got some puma running shoes from sports direct £25 sooo comfy

I just did 6 runs out of 8 (8 x 1 minute runs) but am now dying and had to come home because I thought my legs were going to collapse.

Now sat back down with large glass of water and a rather red face :o

The first running steps I took clicked both my ankles

Drea are we supposed to have a shiny new thread????? Easy instructions again please.:D

Maybe the reason you only did 15 minutes was the speed?

Got up bright & early this morning (unfortunately the sun forgot to join me, so it was a bit cold & damp).Didn't do my usual route, but tried another way & instead of doing (wk 5) 5 min run & 3 min walk, just kept on running. Managed to get through 2 run sections & 1 and a bit walk sessions, so about 15 minutes run, walked for another minute then ran for 2 more. By then I could see my house so thought I ought to walk for a bit to cool down. Totally surprised myself! Maybe I will be able to do the wk5 r3!!!

Just back from a weekend away, I did my wk 4 run 1 yesterday with dh and somehow managed it!! I really thought I wouldn't! I have to admit I found it quite tough, but I did do it so that's the main thing...

Sorry to hear your terrible news Kentishdoris, how awful for you and your family.sending lots of :grouphug:...

Dippychick, well done on your first run, don't worry that you didn't quite do it all and don't let it put you off, it really does get easier...

I downloaded a c25k app for my ipod, which means I play my own music and a voice tells me when to run/walk how many mins left etc. but on reading this today am wondering whether the Robert Ullrey podcast would be more motivational...what do you all think?

Anyway need to do some more unpacking and get the dinner on, so catch you all later x
