Can I join you guys please?
I just did Wk1R1 and loved it. This podcast is just brilliant. I used to be a bit of a runner, but haven't done anything other than a few treadmill runs since I had my son six months ago. I just mapped my first run and it was 2.5 miles which I am very chuffed with.
Looking forward to run 2 already!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Did my week 2 run 1 this morning. Can't believe how hard it felt to run 90 rather than 60 mins but I did it even if I now feel like my legs don't want to run ever again!
 90 minutes and you're only on wk 2?;) lol don't worry, I know (or hope) you meant seconds.
Urghhhh. it's rainy and cold and just plain horrible outside but I have to go for my run. I'll go after 8pm, hopefully the weather will have picked up.
Still haven't managed wk 8 run 1 (28 minutes) so fingers-crossed. I'm absolutely stuffed after dinner so am probably carrying an extra 1-st in weightWish me luck.....!

You can do it.
You could be right, I managed the 25 minute runs but now I have it in my head that I can't even do that :rotfl: tomorrow I'll aim for 25 and see how it goes.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
So sorry for you kentishdoris. Don't worry about getting out running but like you say taking the time out might clear your head and help.
I completed my W5R3 yesterday morning before work without stopping! Didn't expect to manage it so I am very pleased. Now I am just hoping that I can force myself out of bed early enough tomorrow to start week 6!

Kentishdoris - I am so sorry to hear your news...
I am not back to running yet. I am still coughing, and as if I really needed it, I got a hip pain again!!!! We did go for a walk around Manchester yesterday, and walked around park in Preston today, but nothing too excessive.
Anyway, we had some unused Miles&More miles, so we decided to use them and I have just ordered heart rate monitor (Polar FT7). Hope it arrives soon and my hip will fine for a run!
Keep running all!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Didn't run today. Went out and it was just too windy, I gave myself earache and gave up after 5 minutes.
Now I understand why people choose to run at the gym... at least you don't have to worry about the weather messing up your routine!0 -
Ran wk5r3 this morning, supposed to be 20 mins but managed about 18 or so, so am not feeling too bad.
Welcome to the newbies and keep going all the regulars!0 -
Have just done W3R1:j Wasn't as bad as I'd feared, although the second 3 mins seemed so much longer than the first! Going to have a walk later too if it keeps dry. Hope everyone has a good bank holiday0

Didn't do my W9R2 today. I really needed a nice lie in and my running clothes need washing
Well done to all those out today - it is very windy out there!0 -
I joined a gym last week and went three times - just building up gently to strengthen my back and lose weight around the middle. Back is really important though.
I joined with a friend and we go swimming afterwards.
We happened to be swimming in the middle of an aquarobics class so I joined in for 20 minutes, was quite good fun but it was aimed at the older ladies I think because of the choice of music
I see a personal trainer tomorrow who will give me some goals to aim for so I am looking forward to that
I bought the reebok easytones because of the reviews (sucker) but I certainly feel like walking alot because of them.
Also purchased the Wii with the balance board and all the fitness games to see how I get on - although my daughter hasn't been off the Wii since I got it so not had a look in
I am doing the 5k Race for Life in July and am hoping to be fit enough to do it.:cool:0
